After the ball touched his shoulder he controls it with the arm, otherwise it would not have stopped in front of its feet. It's basic physics. Are you retarded?
User avatar #28459 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
Do you even know how a person controls the ball? He moved his shoulder as the ball hit it, hence making it change directions. It's basic football skill. Are you retarded?
User avatar #28461 - totodigatr (06/28/2014) [-]
Oh wow you're actually retarded. Obviously controlling it with the shoulder would have changed the ball's direction, just not in front of his feet (That's where the way his arm was affects the play).
Go finish High School.

Unbelievable...Presented with video proof, and trying to disprove it with physics (INCORRECTLY), even tho it is visibly clear that the ball did not hit his fucking hand...

It's funny because on /sp/ only the brazilians say it wasn't handball.

They say it wasn't. But literally every other person in the world except brazilians and you can clearly see it was handball.

Oh sorry I misread the first sentence. A bit busy at the moment so it happens.

Everyone else doesn't want Brazil to win because they've won so much and they're a threat if they don't get eliminated.

I have been watching all of the USA matches so far. They used that technology on one of the goals, it was counted a goal and then confirmed. It is important in any sport to get clearly incorrect calls corrected. Also I have been all over northern Europe and to Australia and am concerned that all of you would start a war over an incorrect call in the world cup and am concerned.
User avatar #28460 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
I'm usually the only one that cares for incorrect calls and no one believes me because they're so blind with their passion for a certain team.

Right on, who is your team? Also, is Belgium good? I realize that there is no chance for the USA to get past Argentina however i'm always looking for excuses to drink on weekdays.

I just checked the Las Vegas odds and Belgium is 15-1 while we are 40-1 so i'm assuming they're much better than us
User avatar #28466 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
Belgium is good, they call them the red devils, but tbh USA has been playing amazing, that new selection of players is actually pretty good. Jermaine Jones is a fucking beast.

I'm with Brazil, and no that's not the reason I said it was a bad call. I call out bad calls on literally every match (Yes, I watched most of the matches).

Even though i'm yet to appreciate soccer, the world cup always grows on me (and Euro cup) for the time it is aired. It just never sticks. User avatar #28483 - cedrock (06/29/2014) [-]
Yeah Messi and Ronaldo are considered the two best. It's just Ronaldo plays a more personal style, while Messi likes to have some teamplay. The thing is tho, Messi's teammates usually don't catch up to what he's trying to do, and Ronaldo is known to be dangerous with the ball so many people tank up on him. There's pros and cons to both players.

Yes. The USA instituted instant replay in all of its main sports to some degree. It is beginning to recieve a lot of backlash in basketball and football for slowing the game down, however getting the calls right that are clearly wrong on the field is important. However the running clock of soccer poses problems to an instant replay.

I wasn't trying to downplay soccer by comparing it to either of those, I just think it is much more related to technical skill rather than athleticism. Also because its so low scoring I believe a higher percentage of the games also rely on luck
User avatar #28443 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
You make a good point, and it is true, but like I said, with better match supervising, it would be MUCH better.

Last year England scored a goal vs germany that bounced out of the goal, and the referee did not count it. This created such a big shitstorm that they now decide that with a thing called "goal line technology". If the ref denies it was a goal, but the technology said it was, the score would be updated.

Everything else for the time being is based on the ref's decision.

I'd like to add that chess is actually running for being an olympic sport by 2016. Poker is gambling and is too dependent on luck to be a sport. (Not saying it doesn't take skill to bluff and stuff, but still, if you get a full house or say a royal flush you'd be dumb to fall for a bluff)

You literally just said a few posts below there's no luck. Can you be more biased?
User avatar #28451 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
Penalties are no luck. Penalties are all about the speed, the angle, and if the person is calm or not.

The rest of the game contains a shit ton of luck. This match for example, Hulk scored a goal that was announced a handball by the referee. A few replays later I noticed it was not a handball, although it looked like it and the impact of the ball on Hulk's shoulder made his bicep flesh tremble.
User avatar #28452 - totodigatr (06/28/2014) [-]
>It was not handball
Stopped reading there. It was obviously handball.
User avatar #28454 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
Another person that denies it just because the referee said so...

thebiglead.com/2014/06/28/hulk-goal-disallowed-for-controversial-hand-ball/

Second gif, second angle, it touched his shoulder and changed directions because of it, his bicep had no interception with the ball.
User avatar #28455 - totodigatr (06/28/2014) [-]
User avatar #28464 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
Unbelievable...Presented with video proof, and trying to disprove it with physics (INCORRECTLY), even tho it is visibly clear that the ball did not hit his fucking hand...

I'm going back to /sp/, this board is full of retards who don't even know the rules of football.
Fucking wake up already...
User avatar #28465 - totodigatr (06/28/2014) [-]
It's funny because on /sp/ only the brazilians say it wasn't handball.
User avatar #28467 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
It "wasn't" or "was"?
User avatar #28468 - totodigatr (06/28/2014) [-]
They say it wasn't. But literally every other person in the world except brazilians and you can clearly see it was handball.
User avatar #28470 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
Oh sorry I misread the first sentence. A bit busy at the moment so it happens.

Everyone else doesn't want Brazil to win because they've won so much and they're a threat if they don't get eliminated.
User avatar #28410 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
I mean soccer, they aren't even athletes....
User avatar #28412 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
What do you mean? It doesn't take skill?
User avatar #28415 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
No it obviously takes a lot of skill, and is very technical. Its more like chess or poker than a sport.
User avatar #28428 - yeorgh (06/28/2014) [-]
Chess is a sport though.
User avatar #28426 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
I'd like to add that chess is actually running for being an olympic sport by 2016. Poker is gambling and is too dependent on luck to be a sport. (Not saying it doesn't take skill to bluff and stuff, but still, if you get a full house or say a royal flush you'd be dumb to fall for a bluff)
User avatar #28431 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]

User avatar #28447 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
Yes. The USA instituted instant replay in all of its main sports to some degree. It is beginning to recieve a lot of backlash in basketball and football for slowing the game down, however getting the calls right that are clearly wrong on the field is important. However the running clock of soccer poses problems to an instant replay.
User avatar #28453 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
Exactly. You know it's funny the only people on this board who you can reason with are the people who don't even like football. Everyone else wants a team to win so much they don't care if the wrong call is made and try to defend it as hard as they can.
User avatar #28456 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
I have been watching all of the USA matches so far. They used that technology on one of the goals, it was counted a goal and then confirmed. It is important in any sport to get clearly incorrect calls corrected. Also I have been all over northern Europe and to Australia and am concerned that all of you would start a war over an incorrect call in the world cup and am concerned.
User avatar #28460 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
I'm usually the only one that cares for incorrect calls and no one believes me because they're so blind with their passion for a certain team.
User avatar #28462 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
Right on, who is your team? Also, is Belgium good? I realize that there is no chance for the USA to get past Argentina however i'm always looking for excuses to drink on weekdays.
User avatar #28463 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
I just checked the Las Vegas odds and Belgium is 15-1 while we are 40-1 so i'm assuming they're much better than us
User avatar #28466 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
Belgium is good, they call them the red devils, but tbh USA has been playing amazing, that new selection of players is actually pretty good. Jermaine Jones is a fucking beast.

I'm with Brazil, and no that's not the reason I said it was a bad call. I call out bad calls on literally every match (Yes, I watched most of the matches).
User avatar #28469 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
Even though i'm yet to appreciate soccer, the world cup always grows on me (and Euro cup) for the time it is aired. It just never sticks. However Messi is amazing, i enjoy watching him play... apparently him and ranaldo are the two best players?? but yeah, that fucker is quick as hell and clutch as fuck like kobe in basketall.
User avatar #28434 - totodigatr (06/28/2014) [-]
>Low scoring
Confirmed dumb american who needs a score every five minutes.
User avatar #28441 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
Are you implying soccer isn't low scoring and boring?..... 0-1, 1-1, 2-0....much entertainment
User avatar #28445 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
It's boring at first, but you'll realize it isn't once you truly support the USA team. Every attack becomes nerve racking.

Soccer is like a MOBA (Dota 2/LoL/HoN). It takes patience for you to understand it fully and enjoy it.
User avatar #28442 - totodigatr (06/28/2014) [-]
Some people don't need a flashing score and advertisements every five minutes like americans do.
Maybe it's boring for you, just like Baseball/American football/NBA is boring to a huge part of the world.
User avatar #28444 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
Baseball is much worse than soccer (and higher scoring). I myself am not an NFL fan for the same reason the rest of the world isn't, because they weren't exposed to it growing up. Which is also in my opinion why American's find soccer so useless, because no one plays it here.
User avatar #28446 - totodigatr (06/28/2014) [-]
Maybe you should realize not everyone in this website is american then, and don't call football boring as a fact.
User avatar #28448 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
I retort. Soccer is a skill sport composed of many unathletic pussies- fact.
User avatar #28449 - totodigatr (06/28/2014) [-]
Okay.
User avatar #28419 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
What makes it any different than any other said "sport"? Like American football, hockey, etc?
User avatar #28427 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
It just requires much less athleticism. If you are moderately quick, have endurance, and have good ball control.... you're a good soccer player
User avatar #28432 - cedrock (06/28/2014) [-]
Same goes for american football, instead of ball control, being able to catch the egg in your hand, which is btw much easier than ball controll in soccer.

You have no idea how hard ball control is, specially from such far distances and such speeds.
User avatar #28440 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
But yes i'm sure ball control is incredibly difficult, I myself am a basketball player, not handegg. Ball control is basketball is emphasized heavily and worked on at every level, especially for short 6 foot nothing tall fucks like me.
User avatar #28437 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
That isn't necessarily true. It's not just simply catching the egg, there is much technique involved (not to mention insane athletic ability is required, as well as mental strength when 3 meter tall, 0 percent body fat, nignog is about to decapitate you and you have to hold on to the ball regardless of where your spine lands.)
#28418 - thewitchking (06/28/2014) [-]
So you're telling me everyone can do this?
User avatar #28421 - slothboner (06/28/2014) [-]
Yeah.... that iss obviously very technical control of the ball but there is nothing very athletic about it.
