The first thing to realize is that intentionally aiming for the legs does not work as well as in the movies. Anyone who carries a firearm for personal protection, let alone a police officer knows you aim for the largest and most stationary portion of the human anatomy, I.E. the center of mass. Legs are very mobile and provide a high probability of missing and possibly striking an innocent bystander. Intentionally aiming for the legs also has serious legal ramifications as well. To use a firearm on another human being in the state of Missouri, you must indicate that the person was enough of a threat that you had a reason to believe he/she would cause you either death or severe bodily harm. What most people forget is that the legs contain very vital blood vessels that if severed, can cause death by exsanguination in minutes. The fact of the matter is that using a firearm on someone is considered deadly force in most states. If you aim for the leg, it tends to indicate that you did not feel the amount of reasonable fear for your life necessary for deadly force. To compound on what I said earlier, if you intentionally aimed for the leg and the person died as a result, you will be charged with voluntary manslaughter due to the improper use of deadly force. Another thing to consider is that handguns are not as effective as they are made out to be in the movies. Though the projectiles tend to be larger in diameter than rifle rounds, they lack the velocity and force to cause the drastic hydrostatic shock to bodily organs caused by rifle rounds. This means with pistols you are mostly relying on the target bleeding out unless you can take shots well placed enough to hit vital organs. These shots, however are very difficult to take under the duress of a self defense situation as we saw with Officer Wilson's shot placement.

I'm just gonna have to ask a really stupid question, is that meant to say Dance Dance Revolution Style, because If so, I'd like to know what exactly sort of style this is.

don't hurt me

yeah batman was originally supposed to have a dance mode and the fight would turn out based on how well you danced. You can still see a bit of it in how rhythmic the button pushing is in comparison to other buttoon mashers
