i had a super autistic classmate that just didn't understand no meant no. this girl talked to him one day out of obligation for a group assignment and he started stalking her. asked for her number, her facebook, etc. she didnt want to be mean so she gave it but she started receiving long creepy texts. he confessed he loved her and wanted to marry her through "drunken" texts only a week after they met. obviously the girl was creeped the fck out and confronted him about it, told him to cut it out. so he stopped but some ppl thought it would be funny to tell him to be persistent and the girl would eventually cave in and realise how awesome of a guy he is (lol). so he starts following this girl home and talking to her daily. eventually the girl got a restraining order against the guy. i talked to the guy once and kinda hinted that he was being creepy but he honestly didnt understand what he did wrong and he was depressed for ages. ffs, sometimes u just want to slap the autism out of a person but u just can't.

I think that was my general problem with being shy. People just talked about stuff that I had no interest in or knowledge of. You just need to find the right topics to talk about and I will not stop talking. I do try to avoid religion and politics though, people get too testy on those topics. Wait till you get a decent job. Once you start working in an environment where you talk more with your coworkers, you will be learn to open up more and faster. In my 6 months of working, I want to say my social skills have gotten a lot better.
