Well the only real bias is one of importance

The issue of people who aren't me giving too many fucks about who I want to fuck has been a more prominent factor in my life than I would assume it has been in a straight man's life, so it might amplify what I'm afraid of, somewhat

But I still see what I see in terms of human divides and such so I wouldn't say it's at a level of skewing my viewpoint, I just want to clarify that

I base this on noticing that of all the reasons humans have to disliking oneanother, it's almost always to do with sex, breeding and genetics

The veneration of sex and preserving it as something special is what most often seems to drive wedges between groups, inspires hatred and distrust, and keeps people from truly integrating into a single unifies species

I want humanity to see space, to travel the fucking stars, not be landlocked on a single planet because who you fuck is that important

Not that it's the sole cause behind all this trouble but certianly, I feel, a significant contributor

Might also help to know I am a gay man so I have a bias of feeling that the drama of my sexual habits and those of other gay people form a central whirlwind of how I view the melodrama of life's segregation and divides

But put simply
We view who we fuck as being far too important a factor, and let it get in the way of growth and unification for humanity to ever reach it's true potential
User avatar #16 - carlonord (03/23/2015) [-]
Ya, the whole gay man thing probably has something to do with it a little, at least stereotypically. I don't have much experience with gays, and the experience I do have is of them hitting on me (I've had more gays hit on me than girls, halp). As for the rest, I disagree that it's a significant issue if at all, at least in the modern day of everyone that isn't islamic or amish (there's the group divide right there I suppose). Thanks for the insight though, nice to hear different opinions always.

I care because I honestly fear the prudish veneration of the human species' most common and base act is a core piece of the tainted and melodramatic set of "morals" people keep harping on about, which all too often drive wedges in between groups where there should be love and compassion, if not for how stupidly we care about what we do with eachother's fucking nethers like it matters

In short: Wether you want to call it melodramatic, paranoid or just plain silly, I believe truly that the worship of sex as 'special' is partially responsible for all hatred amongst people, and is a blight in the future of humanity
User avatar #10 - carlonord (03/23/2015) [-]
Nah, I agree with you, as you've got some good points. But believe me, if that's something you fear then I can assure you that you've got nothing to worry about. Every year people are getting more and more slutty, you can see it everywhere, and I highly doubt it's gunna stop. But like I said, I'm on the opposite side of the coin from you, though I also know I'm on the side that most people would call childish, beta, or prudish. Though unlike what you fear I wouldn't stop someone from doing what they want unless it's an issue, and most people I know, if not all, would straight out say to fuck as much as possible.

So trust me, your fear is a waste of time.

Sorry for being your fear then, but it's not like I chose it. It's just what feels right to me, I don't think I could ever have sex with someone I didn't love. Although I suppose I'm not your fear since your fear is that but people forcing it on to others.
User avatar #29 - captainprincess (03/23/2015) [-]
Yeah it's the view itself that I dislike, not so much the people who hold to it
You like what you like yknow?
I find scat disgusting but I'm not going to go on a crusade to rag on coprophiles am I, that's their business

But yeah it's those who would see their ideals forced on others that I fear will bring humanity to complete ruin and drag us back to warring tribes at our most basic
User avatar #30 - carlonord (03/23/2015) [-]
At least we can agree forcing view on others if they don't harm anyone is a bad thing
#31 - captainprincess (03/23/2015) [-]
Also, "marks" is a term mostly used by con artists and such to describe their targets
I was basically accusing women of being con-artists

So because you do it that makes it common?
The girl is just a slag and well, at the least you have possibly several STDs.

In the UK it's not common, 'open relationship' is just a fancy way of saying 'friends with benefits', generally meaning that one is a slut and one is an asshole, there is no way I would want to shag someone I wasn't exclusive with.

Referring to someone as boy/girlfriend means you should be exclusive and it's always assumed you are because that's the whole point of a relationship, unless one of them is cheating, which just makes them an awful person and a whole other topic.
User avatar #21 - carlonord (03/23/2015) [-]
I've heard that Europe seems to be a lot more open with sexual things, so that doesn't even surprise me. That would never be possible for me though. I can't separate sex from love very well so even the idea of a casual encounter disgusts me, this includes friends with benefits.

Shame it's considered such a beta thing to love someone before sharing yourself with them.

Probably because it's not a relationship, but rather a "I want to fuck anyone I want like I'm single, but gee do I lack the emotional stability to actually stay single" thing.

People remain in a parody of relationship to have some sort of security in case if everything else fails, and call it "open relationship" because it sounds better than "backup plan".
User avatar #68 - satansferret (03/24/2015) [-]
maybe that's just your and quite a majority of others view on it. I've had an open relationship before that lasted about two years. Eventually it ended due to her wanting children and me not.

I still feel sad to this day. I wish people still believed in being faithful, instead of being told that "everyone does it."

No, an open relationship is generally when your primary partner can't meet your physical needs. They don't want to have sex as much as you do, and they don't mind you banging other people for that.
