I hope so, I don't like it all that much so far. I probably just need more practice, but it still makes me really nervous.

The nervousness goes away very quickly once you're done your road test. Just blast some tunes and try to stop yourself from going 40kmh over. Seriously, I find myself having to fight the urge to go to the highway solely to put the pedal to the floor. And of course with all things the more you do it, the easier it is, I for one hate driving where there's lights and multiple lanes, shit terrifies me. But of course, I live in a small town in the bush of Ontario, so I don't do it much.

Yes I'm Canadian, and sorry, I should have specified: once I've taken my road test. I have my learners at present, which means that if I want to drive anyone anywhere I need someone with a complete licence to supervise, and they're the only other person allowed while I drive. Essentially, I have to not only borrow a car but a fellow driver as well.
User avatar #25 - carlonord (11/06/2014) [-]
Ah OK, you should've specified that you only had your G1, I actually just got my G2 this last summer. (^-^) You're gunna love it when you can drive alone.

You underestimate the shittiness of my province. Since the town he's in isn't on the main route to anywhere, there's no bus service between us except rented tours and shuttle services, both of which are expensive. Once I have my full licence there's a van I know I'll be able to borrow relatively often, but that's still a couple months off at least.
User avatar #23 - carlonord (11/06/2014) [-]
Province? You Canadian too? If so, you don't need your full license to borrow a van and go on the highway, just your G2. Unless you're not in Canada, or the rules on driving differ between provinces in which case idk.

As long distance goes, it's not terribly far, only an hour's drive (not that either of us has access to a car that often). I *do* miss snuggles a lot though.

Ever consider taking a bus? Those tend to work out pretty well and are cheaper than driving.

Ah, that does suck buddy. I'm in a long-distance relationship so it's bittersweet for me. Sometimes I'll smell that someone has the same deodorant as him - it's not an entirely uncommon brand - but I've now got this emotional tie to it. So for a split second my brain gets all confused and annoyed like "that's not who I thought it was. How dare you trick me like this."
I sometimes wonder if I'm not actually a dog.
#19 - carlonord (11/06/2014) [-]
I've only had one girlfriend, and she used a lot of different smells so a lot is tied to her. She's the source of my all time favourite scent and every time I smell it, my mind just seems to reset. Like I lose my step and have a bit of trouble processing thoughts. Doesn't help that I'm still emotionally tied to this person and see her almost everyday.

And what you put there is another reason I refuse long-distance, too much wanting to be there, not enough snuggles.
