Female to male. Most people can't even tell I was born female at this point, I started hormones at 14, and I'm 22 now, 6'3" 230 pounds. I didn't exactly expect it all to go so well. ^^" Dating the most wonderful woman named Hannah, who knows and doesn't mind at all my origins.

Was it difficult?
#559 - pokimone (02/11/2014) [-]
Not horribly so. I got the surgery when I was 18. That was kind of weird... Imagine going to sleep, then waking up with different genetals. You kind of play with it a bit more than you should at first to get used to it. But aside from that, it wasn't so difficult. Expensive maybe. I used hormones for a long time, and worked out a few hours a day to get the body type, to put it in perspective, when I started, I was 4'10", slim build, mid sized C cup bust, and about 110 pounds. 5 years later, I'd grown about a foot, my shoulders had almost doubled in width, I had the upper body of general armstrong from FMA (turns out hormones will do that to you if you work out too much, I toned down the workouts to get myself a bit more slim, rather than bulging muscles. They sound great, but they really arn't, and they're practically useless, its the core muscles that mean something, not the arms.) and my voice had deepened slightly. But its gradual, so you don't notice it too much. I suppose the breast reduction was kind of hard. Not gonna lie, I kind of miss them sometimes. They were fun to play with, but I have my girlfriend for that now. ;D Either way, 9/10 expirience, 10/10 in satisfaction, maybe minus .5 for the missing the boobs. I'm not really comfortable with putting my picture out there, but to put it into perspective what hormones can do, heres a picture of Buck Angel. Same person, about 5 years difference.

Sounds like things ended up pretty well.

Honestly, when it comes to matters of social justice, I think it's best that we all agree to dislike individual people solely on the basis of whether or not they are assholes. No need to bother specific groups of people. I actually kind of admire anyone who is willing to make hard sacrifices in an attempt to do something better for themselves. I wish I was determined enough to do that.
User avatar #603 - pokimone (02/11/2014) [-]
Honestly, thats one of the most mature standpoints I've heard on things like that in a long time. Hell, I've made my mistakes and prematurly judged more than my fair share of people. But I suppose we all have from time to time, all we can do is learn from our mistakes, and use that expirience to grow as a person. From what you said though, and the little I know about you, it sounds to me like you've already got a pretty damn good head on your shoulders. We all have our flaws, but be proud that intolerance isn't one of yours. You're a good guy (or girl), from what I can tell. I also love that gif, I'd thumb you twice if I could just for that.
#637 - aerosol (02/11/2014) [-]
(guy) I'm a little different myself. That's why I come here. I was also raised Catholic. I stopped going to church cuz I'm a lazy shit but I still remember being taught not to judge people no matter how different they may be, and I can sympathize with that. Besides, it feels really good to just get along with people who you could have easily made your worst enemies. I guess you could say it's liberating.

btw, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I don't usually find such kind people in these types of threads. Also thanks for calling me mature. I just turned 20 and it's a relief to hear I might be at least a little ready for adulthood. it just keeps getting scarier

Hey, I'm always up for meeting a new friend. I was raised Baptist oddly enough, not as bad of a group of people as everyone thinks, strong stance on gay and trans, but other than that very nice people (normal baptists, not the crazy westboro ones) i don't agree with the views, but I have a few friends who are baptist that I'm proud to say I'm aquanted with. Regardless, its nice to meet people on here. I know what you mean though, it seems like everyone is out to get everyone on here sometimes. And its nothing, I've been living on my own for the most part since I was 14 (not really on my own, but I did a lot of exchange programs, so I'm used to having my freedom and taking care of myself) I can tell you, I may only be 2 years older than you, but it gets easier. When you first have to fend for yourself in the world, be it moving out, growing up, getting your first job, first time in bed, or hell, even just the first kiss, it can be exciting, but pretty damn frightening, but don't worry, while I wont say its better than being young, it certainly has its perks, mainly in the freedom. But it does get easier to deal with things the more you learn about them and the more expirience you get. Its only too scary for the first year or two, then you meet new people, and one day realize that you know what you need to know. (you never stop feeling like a kid inside though, at least thats what all my older friends tell me) Shoot a PM my way if you ever want to chat. ^^

1. Depends. Sometimes colleges require that you live on campus for a year or two (costs tons of $$$) or you have to commute from home. Living off campus is the best though, since it is typically a lot cheaper and no required meal plan. As a slightly socially awkward FunnyJunker it was a little bit fun but if I could go back I wish I lived off campus instead to save a couple thousand dollars.

2. Yes. But don't worry, they aren't all competitive. I go to a state school and I get a $5,000 a year scholarship just because I had a certain high school GPA and ACT score when I enrolled. Check to see if the prospective school you might go to offers you anything like that.

3. No, being undecided is the most proportionality common major status. Most of the credits you take during your first and second semester count for general degree requirements, so it is not like you are wasting money.

4. Really depends on the field. To my understanding a lot of people do just fine with a BS in computer science. You can have a few years to decide as well if you want to go onto grad school.
User avatar #170 - exuberentmalware (02/05/2014) [-]
You can live on campus but in my experience you can bcome very homesick, but on the other hand, it teaches you responsibility. You should live on campus, in my opinion due to the fact that living at home whilst going to college wont give you any new life lessons.

YOU ABSOULTELY SHOULD GO FOR LOTS OF SCHOLARSHIPS. No one has all the money in the world, everythings pricey, get yourr college tuition as low as possible(with scholarships)

NO, you dont have to choose your major immediately. Most colleges have you take multiple courses to get yourself exposed to everyhting, then after your second year or so you then choose a major.

You can get a bachelors to start off, but you should eventually gte amsters.

HOPE I HELPED!

if you want to live alone or with a room mate, yeah, but i woudl live with parents

yes

many people say no, i'd say yes

depends on the job, bachelors is enough, but employers will hire higher qualified people

just a little side note i want to comment on while we may have that many languages there are only about 25 or so that make up a noticeable amount. i mean english is like 80% and spanish makes up a lot of the rest. we have different cultures but primarily share our similarities unless decided otherwise by that individual due to the fact that we allow the personal practice more than others
