flarenight (01/08/2016) [-] I want to say this is not real by just looking at those head phones. the FAA would not allow pilots to wear those as they have to be in constant communications with ATC services at all times.  Earbuds come with built in mic nowadays, so they'd be able to communicate . I'd assume some airlines would allow them, especially since they're probably more comfortable than the bulky assed ones they're issued. #38 -
flarenight (01/08/2016) [-] its more then that. they dont cancel noise as well, they wont pick up the pilots voice as well and, the outlet for the headset in planes and atc facilities are different from what is sold to be used with phones and computers. also the cockpit is to dark. every instrument, button, switch, and label, is lit up in a plane or has a light near it so it can be easily visible. maybe the camera from there is not picking it up well but i doubt that. and finally the turbulence you would get coming into the airport is more vertical and the active runway is the one most aligned to face into the wind. it is bumpy when you take off and land due to the uneven heating of the surface of the earth causing slight pressure differences if i remember correctly. #47 -

 I saw Russia was fine. that spot is (maybe) mostly empty space. Anyway, England is seperate from mainland France, that was the important detail (to me) "Russia was fine" Yeah, I think having it removed from the map with a big hole left behind is fine, too Russia is a damn big country, made up of mostly unoccupied countryside. | I've been on several flights and never once did people applaud. Course I was on Delta with the rest of the minorities so that could be it idk maybe Its true the few times I fly the passanges are like 90% white Most of my flights are 100% white, couldn't imagine a scenario where anyone would clap for a landing. If your boss made you get a sick note anyway after the company stopped requiring it and they were billed, then that would be on his neck not yours. But I'm not interested in individual situations, I'm interested in the whole. Say there are a few hundred people working for the company in question. Prior to the company dropping the sick not policy, 100% of them would go to the doctor to get a note when they stay home from work - a requirement. But if it were no longer required, while some or even many of them still would go to the doctor, it's highly unlikely that all of them would keep going. It's common knowledge that there is no cure for the common cold, and many people don't go to the doctor for it for that reason. Is it possible that each and every employee would be in some weird personal position where they still decide to go to the doctor's office once it isn't required? Sure, in all the many universes there are some where that happens. But is it likely? Hell the **** no.
And yes, it is wasted time if they just have a cold, because there is literally nothing the doctor can do for them. It's the doctor's job to treat them but that doesn't mean jack when there isn't a treatment. In this case the doctor loses time, the patient gains nothing, and other patients are potentially exposed to a virus.

So would the doctor unless you're missing something really obvious. If you go to the doctor with cold symptoms, they will send you home and tell you to come back if it gets worse or new symptoms appear. As long as you aren't retarded enough to miss something obvious like a rash or black phlegm, you have the same exact ability to diagnose or misdiagnose a cold as a doctor.

Not by much. A doctor can't magically differentiate one set of cold-like symptoms from another, and if you're a human living on the planet earth, you probably have close to as much experience with colds as them. But feel free to go in and demand a blood test next time you have the sniffles, no skin off my back. All I'm saying is that plenty of people won't do that if they aren't required to, and likely for the greater good.
