I agree we both care about looks.
But it kinda suck to be a guy. I have a decent body, but i dont have the genes for it. I had to work hard to get my body in good shape and have to work out at least 2 times a week and eat healty. If stop training for even a few weeks i will lose a lot of mucle mass and it take month to get it back.
The only thing most girl have to do look hot in a bikini is not eat like a pig every day.
#79 - VyeVedrai (11/27/2013) [-]
All women do not have some kind of hyped up metabolism... Without exercise a girl would not have a hot bikini body, even if she did eat normally. Some women and men have a better metabolism than others, but if a girl applied the same regimen you have, chances are she too would only have a decent figure. I know this. I'm a recovering anorexic, I eat about one meal a day and I'm near the average weight for my height. If I applied a steady workout, I would have to eat more which I'm not ready to do yet. I'm sorry, but the "not eat like a pig" would mean eating the same amount I do and I would not wish that upon anyone.

This is true, but also has to do with most genes. Just because it is hard for you to do something doesn't mean your body is not made for it; perhaps you're simply going about it the wrong way. Understanding your body and mind is the key step to unlocking your true potential as a human being, after-all.

I have been lifting for a year and a half, got my bodyweight up from 57 to 67 (KG)
Those 18 months where totally deticated to lifting, i had no school and no job. I counted every gram of protein carb and fat i got in my system. trained every other day and only skipped about 20-25 trainings in that time.
After that i had to stop and within a few months i got back to 56,5 kg. Ive been kickboxing for about 3 maybe 4 months, got my weight up to 64 with a lower fat%
Got sick and now im back at 61.
TL;DR, i know my body, lifting doesnt work for me, kickboxing does.

I know we were just talking about how women have it easier body-wise than men, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm really proud of you and your gains; I've been working out regularly too and it's made me feel a lot healthier, more attractive, and better about myself and know that I am rooting for you every lift you take. I support you buddy, we all do.

The second part is true, but from age 18-26 women are picked on more for be over weight, after that and before I think it's about even. Also I don't really talk to people so I'm probably wrong, I'm just going off the media now. The media is quite accepting of fat actors (like Seth Rogen) but if a girl (like Jennifer Lawrence) is average weight, she's considered obese.

No it's not, it IS a feminist double standard, because many of them complain about the views media puts upon women, but none of them stress the ones it puts upon males (except when it shows them in a dominating light).
That might not have been what Feminist views originally were, but times change and the majority group decides what it stands for. There's a reason Feminism is called a 'toxic' ideology.
#84 - glaciel (11/28/2013) [-]
All feminists I know (and I know a lot of them, given what I do) are trying to fight both unreal standards. It would seem that your experiences with people that call themselves "feminists" differ from mine and you think that misguided misandrists are feminists.
As for what feminist views were originally, they had nothing to do with male problems, because females were the ones suffering from sexism at a much greater proportion. It is nowadays that feminist movement is transforming into a gender equality but due to prevalent disproportions of sexism victims in our society they still prioritize women. That doesn't mean we do not care, or do nothing at all about sexism that affects men, but if you think about the numbers, for example those concerning sexual assaults, 8 women are assaulted for every 1 man.
And as for your last point- feminism is called "toxic" because a lot of people don't know any feminists and think that those assholes in public media that called themselves feminists are the real deal. They aren't. They're just total gobshites and a problem for us ALL.

I've read all 3 books of Grey (I'm a female) and I am so disgusted. I mean, eventhough I actually think the books have been great for many peoples sex life, bottom line is that the story is about an abusive man who gets sexual kicks out of harming his loved one. He hits her really hard once and says that he wants to hit her several times! For crying out loud, she spends most of her time being afraid of him! I don't mind the spanking part and the sex-toys part, but that is really messed up. And these books have sold in more than 70 milion copies all around the world. I sincerly hope that everyone reading them do so for the sex and not for the horrible relationship.

Hear hear, to some there may be no right and wrong in the world, but those who feel that way simply lack the moral fortitude to fight for what they feel in their heart is right.
I hold nothing against the man who stands up for what he believes, but to quote Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "a man who won't die for something is not fit to live".
#69 - anonymous poster (11/27/2013) [-]
dont you dare ever use "hear hear" again....you worthless piece of fake shit
i know who you are, you talk from high but you are nothing
#58 - pokemonstheshiz (11/27/2013) [-]
I'm not so sure it's a "lack of moral fortitude" as much as it is them not believing their morals to be ultimately superior. There's a difference between acknowledging there are other ideas, and actually being accepting of those ideas. If you think about morals, they were taught to you by other humans, and humans are fallible, which means those morals can be too. Very few things are so black and white
"Enduring and forgiving are two different things. You must not forget the unjustness of society. As a human being, you must hold the event in contempt. Yet, you must endure.
You must put an end to the chain of hatred"
I believe there's always an alternative to violence, and one cannot do as much in death as one can in life.
#61 - admiralshepard (11/27/2013) [-]
Unfortunately that's not the way the world works. There will always be those who hold morals and beliefs that come in direct contradiction with the things that you hold most sacred. To be accepting of those beliefs is to compromise your own moral integrity. I acknowledge the beliefs and morals of neo-nazis, klan members, and violent religious extremists, but I will never be accepting of them. I understand that the aforementioned groups are often brought into the fold at birth, they're inundated with these beliefs throughout their childhood, and because of that, I seldom hold anything against the individual. However, when such an individual threatens my morals, the things that I hold sacred, my family, and my basic liberties; I will not hesitate to resort to violence.
#93 - admiralshepard (11/27/2013) [-]
Sometimes winning the battle is all you can do. Complacency in allowing an idea to exist that threatens to destroy the things you love is ultimately a form of acceptance. Diversity in all things makes us stronger, but only to a point. Negotiation can only take you so far, and it is an unfortunate fact of life that violence is often left as the only alternative to accepting beliefs that you believe are fundamentally wrong. Of course what's wrong or right is a matter of opinion, but that's irrelevant. Sometimes a line must be drawn, where you put your foot down and declare what you're willing to fight for. There is evil in this world, and one can either turn their cheek to it, or fight it, with violence if need be; and sometimes that evil is so great that it warrants the evil of violence to quell it.

I think this is a good stopping point for our debate, I think people of your mindset are ultimately going to save the human race from our own self induced annihilation, but we unfortunately live in a world in which the calculated application of force is often the swiftest and most direct way to bring about change and ensure security. Thank you for the exchange.
By the way, I haven't been online all this time, I just got home and checked my computer. I never remember to logout.
