Okay so then what don't you understand about the questionnaire? You mean you don't understand why someone who was smart enough to get the first few questions suddenly wasn't smart enough to get the last one?
User avatar #37 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
I don't understand how...

1. A smart man (which can be easily seen)
2. Who is good at trick questions (answering them all with ease)
3. While in a good mind-set for trick questions (didn't even hesitate to take logic out of the picture)
Suddenly falters, stumbles over himself, and does the exact opposite of what he did with every other question (I.E. Think logically). It just doesn't make sense.

Not only that, but my point still stands, the questionnaire had a certain theme in that they all related to eachother, each one had an answer based off of another question, and yet, despite the fact he probably knows this and is smart enough to see this pattern, he STILL stumbles over it. It just seems stupid.

If you take a moment to read the questions again you will notice ALL of the questions are related. The brick hitting the woman in the last question was a result of dropping the brick in the first question.

The question involving the lady crossing the river was related to the questions about the animals, the party and the fridge because the crocodiles were at the party with the other animals but not the deer which was in the fridge once replacing the elephant which was opened on two different occasions in 3 and 4 steps with the elephant and the deer respectively.

Only posting half of my comment to try and prove a point doesn't work well. Besides, you're trying way too hard to defend a bad joke.

There is no furry board.
User avatar #36 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
You're right, but that wasn't the main focus; they just use those pictures as personifications, much like some people here do. However, there IS a board expressly made for talking and socializing that they, for some reason, refuse to go
User avatar #42 - hanabro (10/20/2013) [-]
/b/ has no limits on what isn't and is acceptable. Ponies technically are banned from /b/ due to global rule 15, but keep in mind that the "ZOMG none" rule also applies to mods, so if the mods don't find something worth banning, it's acceptable on /b/.

The problem is that /b/ was intentionally designed to be a shitty board. It's the muck that every 4chan user has to wade through for awhile before they "graduate" to other boards such as /a/ or /v/. /b/ is the holding place for all the newfags until they get accustomed to the 4chan culture, so expecting any form of quality in it is misdirected.
User avatar #46 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
Yes, that's nice, it still doesn't change the fact that it lowers the over-all quality of it. Being stupid isn't illegal, but that doesn't mean it doesn't lower the quality of life for everyone subjected to it, does it?

Actually, it wasn't intended to be that at all. Every board serves a different function, /b/ was 'random', it served to have a bit of everything in it for those who wanted a bit of everything; this included some of the best and worst parts of the site and was generally regarded as the front-line of it. However, that does not make it any 'less or more' of a board than any other, and due to the recent quality of people that visit it, the general quality of the entire board (and I would say 4chan in general) has been lowered. There is nothing WORTH going back there for, and it's due to shitty people; you can make all the excuses you like, but those two groups I mentioned are very much in part of this 'shitty people'.
User avatar #17 - dtox (10/20/2013) [-]
I just think that 4chan, as well as most other websites that could be considered "infamous," attracts all kinds of idiocy from everywhere. It's unfair to point at a group and claim "they're to blame," when there are plenty of other factors at work.
User avatar #21 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
You're right, and perhaps it is a bit unfair of me. However, many 'newfags' as they're (no longer) referred to eventually learn the lay of the land and either leave or actually contribute. While those I have mentioned already know the layout and yet choose to be a problem, spreading their shit around when they have their literal own board to shit in.

I doubt that very many people would think of the first question asked though. That's why the "Um..." is there, because he couldn't think of a trick answer to the trick question, so he went with the best thing he could think of.
User avatar #32 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
I would, because it's the only question that wasn't connected to anything else. If you'll look through the post, you will notice that every single question besides the first has ties to a previously asked one. It would only make sense, even for a trick question, to assume the one question that DOESN'T have any prior connections would, in fact, be connected to the one thing that didn't LEAD to any connections (at first). You see?

Yes, I understand that, all well and good, but this most likely never happened. It's just the work of a creative mind putting it into text format or some-such, I'm just saying that they did it in a bad way, because it doesn't make sense for an obviously smart person to easily address and answer every trick question with confidence and then suddenly stumble over the last one.
User avatar #33 - xdiabolicx (10/20/2013) [-]

Oh ho ho. You're just hilariously desperate.

I mean, people who feel loyalty to brands, or companies like Apple are fucking stupid.

But you just take it to a whole new level, I mean loyalty to a website?

You can see the desperation to prove how superior you are, that you can't enjoy content from anywhere else but Funnyjunk.

Comments like yours do not contribute to Funnyjunk, and we're not laughing at Tumblr, we are laughing at their content.

We are laughing at you however.

TL;DR You're a pitiful OP with a raging superiority complex.
User avatar #193 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
How so?

I don't feel loyalty to Funnyjunk, that doesn't mean I can't like it, nor does it mean I am unable to see the good in it.

As said, you're insisting something that's not true.

I never said I can't enjoy content anywhere else but Funnyjunk, I like 4chan, but it's far worse than it once was; and as said in comments below, I enjoy some Tumblr posts as well, but the majority are just lame.

Neither does complains. Just as well, while I understand I do not speak for all of Funnyjunk, neither do you.

Yes, that's what all those green thumbs mean, that people dislike what I have to say and are mocking me.

You want to talk about pitiful? How about the guy who goes on and on with rabid assumptions just to make it seem as if he is better than another.
#194 - rhetoricalfunny (10/21/2013) [-]
Makes rabid assumptions?

Yea, no.

Quite simply, I don't place enough value on this for these assumptions to be "rabid." Or for them to be assumptions.

You're like a little child who got mad because his favorite *insert arbitrary shit here* was called stupid, and now has to prove that it isn't by calling down everything else.
Funnyjunk is just halfway point. The assholishness of 4chan with the occasional funny.
At least Tumblr people can laugh at something, laugh at themselves, and laugh without giving half a fuck about popular opinion.

I like how you just had to point out your green thumbs. Bravo man, you hear that, that's me clapping for you. You made a top comment. Congratulations, you now have a stable job, a girlfriend, and an active social life.

Finally, to point out some contradictions.

"We DO hate Tumblr"
"I do not speak for all of Funnyjunk"
If you're not speaking for all of Funnyjunk, then who the fuck is we? Especially considering FJ's opinion about Tumblr hasn't been polled, so no majority or minority can be determined. At best you're speaking for the 84 people who thumbed up your comment. That isn't much.

"we should be at the TOP now."
"I don't feel loyalty to Funnyjunk,"
But you definitely feel the need to spout its superiority. Call it what you want, loyalty, nationalism, taking it up the ass from Admin. (IactuallyDGAF about admin) Whatever helps you sleep at night bro.

I could probably go on through the many many comments you've posted, but I've got a life. Frontpage was a bit disappointing today. Here's hoping tomorrow's better.

You have my pity and I bid you adieu.
User avatar #195 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
They are assumptions though. You're trying very hard to prove I think a way that I certainly do not, and the very fact I do not think that way undermines your entire argument.

I didn't 'have to', but one of your points was that "we are laughing at you", yet, by majority opinion, I actually made a good point; so you would be incorrect.

I already corrected the "We DO hate Tumblr" part into "Most do", so that is no longer a contradiction.

So I cannot have an opinion without describing personal loyalty? You dislike Nazism, so that MUST mean you are a Communist? I believe we should be at the top of the list because our comments tend to be much funnier (as I think), we are now making more and more OC; the only difference between back then and now is that nobody is taking OUR stuff, which is what we did with them back then.

It's cute that you say "I got a life" as if implying I do not, yet you still take such pains to describe why I am wrong and you are better. It's impolite to point to another person's faults while refusing to address your own.
User avatar #202 - rhetoricalfunny (10/24/2013) [-]
"By majority opinion."
84 people is not a majority

"Most do" Again. Still a contradiction as no opinion has been polled, and as such no conclusion can be drawn. Any majority minority is a stat pulled straight out of your ass.

It's be more like, I think white people are superior, therefore I am a nazi. (Example.)
Point 1, is the cause of point 2. Whether or not one admits to point 2 is irrelevant. Funnyjunk is an image sharing site. Accrediting us with OC is giving us way too much credit. You want OC, follow actual comic and sketch artists, Funnyjunk is reposts of reposts, reposted on a site, from a site of reposts.

And that's the way I fucking like it.
User avatar #203 - captainfuckitall (10/24/2013) [-]
It's the majority of the minority of voted comments here.

It's actually pulled from observable evidence gained from comments on the majority of Tumblr posts. You're right though, I shouldn't speak for everyone; even so, my opinion is obviously supported.

But that's still wrong.
User avatar #204 - rhetoricalfunny (10/25/2013) [-]
1. A majority of a minority is a minority.

2. That is anecdotal bullshit. Unless you can provide numbers for.

a. The # of unique FJ users.
b. The # of Tumblr posts per week (day, month, etc.)
c. The # of comments opposed to Tumblr, supporting Tumblr (Laughing at, and laughing respectively)
d. The support of each comment by unique members.

Until you can provide numbers that prove that, you cannot claim your point has any validity. It's nothing but anecdotal bullshit.

Read it again. Very few people laugh 'at' their content, we're laughing 'at' them themselves, and that's why it gets posted here. You ever look at the comments and see how much they're made fun of? Ya.

Besides, I for one have never stolen any content, nor do I actually go to places I don't care for. If you're going to make assumptions, at least try to make them informed ones.

User avatar #177 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
Everyone tends to have that need, but we have that need via being funny or interesting. They have that need by being weird and wacky, and so go out of their way to make themselves into Mary Sue characters.

You go there and you hear people talk about how hardcore they are, how bad their life sucks, how many interesting things happen to them in a day, how they're so full of charm and life and growth, how they're dating angels or something. Here, you see anyone talk about crap like that, they get thumbed down and mocked to oblivion, at least here our need to be validated manifests in a much healthier tone.

/b/ is a pile of shit, the rest are not as bad, but close. Bronies are a problem, as stated, they have their own circlejerk threads on /b/ all the time despite having their own board, even-more so, they will go out of their way to go to OTHER boards and spread that shit around, which is why I mentioned them in the first place.

I actually genuinely enjoy tumblr content and I wouldn't count myself among those who laugh at the people on tumblr. Many seem like chill people who don't really care about calling anyone a nigger or a faggot and instead they spout random useless ideas and ridiculous anecdotes for fun and I can appreciate that.

I see a lot of people on funnyjunk being immensely infuriated by their jargon (oh mY GOD, did you just, i can't even, etc), but really, every site has some form of jargon and it's not worth raising your blood pressure over.
User avatar #181 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
It's not just their jargon, it's their general attitude and mind-set about how unique and special they are while nobody else is. If you go around their posts enough, you'll begin to see it more and more (like 4chan when it first started up).

Very well then, *Most people dislike it. I can agree that some of it is good, and some of it has made even me burst out laughing, but those posts are few and far between compared to how much crap they spew out in an attempt to make themselves more interesting.
User avatar #184 - hudis (10/21/2013) [-]
Doesn't this thread prove that the case is the same on funnyjunk, though? A need for confirmation and self-assurance to such an extent that one has to verbally shit on other sites just to prove a point?

And you can't say that most people dislike tumblr. There is no evidence to support such a claim. You have no right to speak on behalf of the whole funnyjunk community any more than I or anyone else does.
User avatar #185 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
Well no. See, I couldn't give less of a shit whether I got thumbs up or down, I just want people to understand. Besides, how would I get validation for insulting another site? I would much rather get it by, pfftt, I don't know, doing something amazing with my life that doesn't culminate into virtual currency.

I corrected that and said *Most, and I can say that because if you see a picture from Tumblr and look down, a very high portion of the comments is usually mocking or insulting them, these also get a lot of thumbs, and while it's true that lots of thumbs tends to bring in more by nature, I would assume that at least 2/3 of the thumbs they have means that the user who gave them is in agreement, confirming, in fact, a state of majority among Funnyjunk
User avatar #186 - hudis (10/21/2013) [-]
You also have to consider that if you compare views to thumbs to comments, one can conclude that the vast majority not only neglect to thumb up or down but also neglect to comment, so it's a very unreliable thing to base assumptions on. You may be right or you may be wrong, but we will never know for certain.
User avatar #187 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
Ah, but I'm not talking about the majority of the site, but the simple majority of the group, those who like it, dislike it, and are indifferent to it. Those who make fun of Tumblr tend to be in the majority (although, I wouldn't absolutely know, as the very definition of indifference would make me unable to tell)
User avatar #190 - hudis (10/21/2013) [-]
Yeah but for all you know, those who make fun of it aren't a majority either. Like I said, the point is that you can't know because there is no way to measure it other than going by comments and thumbs of which you do not know how many are distributed by whom and for what reason.
User avatar #192 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
And so what are you arguing, other than that I do not know?
User avatar #196 - hudis (10/21/2013) [-]
That the statement "What the fuck are you talking about? We DO hate Tumblr" only applies to a certain group of people and not the whole site, so it's wrong to act as if the entirety of funnyjunk hates tumblr. Sorry for sperging on you, it just annoys me when people think they can speak on behalf of communities so large and diverse.
User avatar #197 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
Yes, that would be all well and good if I had not taken that statement back multiple times, and simply opted for 'Majority'. I don't know what to tell you sir, from what I see, the majority of commenters truly do dislike Tumblr and often mock it, it's simple observation.

As the anon spamming the shit out of one of admins comments I can honestly say that shile I was ready to flame you reading the first part I actually kind of agree with you at this point. User avatar #48 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
I don't see why anyone would disagree unless they feel personally insulted by my comment. It's not as if anything I said was incorrect, and people bitch about this site far more than there is actually anything to bitch about. I'm glad we're maturing past the point where we don't need to point out reposts every second picture, but that maturity also comes with trying to be more mature than we really are, which involves the "Hurr durr, funnyjunk is so immature" name-calling group I talked about. You can see that exact group just by looking through some of the comments.
#51 - anonymous (10/20/2013) [-]
Precisely. It makes no sense why everyone wants unbarred freedom and all this shit on this site when if they could control themselves odds are we wouldnt need the mods anyway. Then again no matter what choice an authority figure makes about any matter there will always be a group of people who disagree and or talk shit about it.

Oh, and before anyone freaks out at me about "Hurr durr, bronies nor furries are that bad", you're right, they're not that bad elsewhere, but I have yet to go on /b/ a single time in recent years and NOT see a brony ('Chikun') thread, or one of those idiotic talking sprees where the anonymous use pictures of characters (usually furries, anime, or manga characters) as a personification.

Despite the fact that there are two different boards literally dedicated to that kind of shit, they still bring it to /b/, they still butt into threads that aren't their own, and they still do their best to annoy everyone there, so don't you fucking tell me they 'aren't that bad'
User avatar #74 - mezznok (10/20/2013) [-]
Not to mention the endless fucking sea of trap threads. Take it to /LGBT/ or hell just make ONE thread about them not an entire pages worth.
User avatar #182 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
You're right, I should have given them some mention as well
#52 - darkjustifier (10/20/2013) [-]
I go to all of them and being the newfag that I am to the internet I enjoy them all immensely.
User avatar #183 - captainfuckitall (10/21/2013) [-]
Good man. Don't be like me.
User avatar #33 - hanabro (10/20/2013) [-]

User avatar #9 - tankeruber (10/20/2013) [-]
Well, 4chan =/= /b/. I occasionally pop on /k/, /v/ and /vg/, and atleast /k/ has some funny stuff, but you kind of have to understand the lingo, otherwise the joke will be lost on you.
User avatar #11 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
"4Chan (especially /b/)". I understand that 4chan and /b/ are not the same thing, as a matter of fact I even made a point to address both in my comment.

Then it's not 'funny' stuff, it's 'inside joke' stuff, which doesn't count.
User avatar #12 - tankeruber (10/20/2013) [-]
Fair enough. I thought you were implying that because /b/ went to shit, so did 4chan. Thank you for clarifying, and not doing it like an asshole.

User avatar #30 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
Of course, because that's the logical way of thinking.

How the hell do you logically fit an elephant into a fridge?

All of these questions were trick questions, so it doesn't make sense that he would suddenly change his mind-set into a logical thinking pattern.
User avatar #31 - newforomador (10/20/2013) [-]

If you take a moment to read the questions again you will notice ALL of the questions are related. The brick hitting the woman in the last question was a result of dropping the brick in the first question.

The question involving the lady crossing the river was related to the questions about the animals, the party and the fridge because the crocodiles were at the party with the other animals but not the deer which was in the fridge once replacing the elephant which was opened on two different occasions in 3 and 4 steps with the elephant and the deer respectively.
User avatar #34 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
"It would only make sense, even for a trick question, to assume the one question that DOESN'T have any prior connections would, in fact, be connected to the one thing that didn't LEAD to any connections (at first)."

Only posting half of my comment to try and prove a point doesn't work well. Besides, you're trying way too hard to defend a bad joke.
User avatar #35 - xdiabolicx (10/20/2013) [-]

#11 - anonymous (10/20/2013) [-]
It was from the first question, he didn't tie the first with the last because all of the last ones tied with the one prior, but hey, it's a hypothetical questionnaire anyways.
User avatar #12 - captainfuckitall (10/20/2013) [-]
Ya, but it's still a trick question, so it's obviously going to mess with his train of thought.

Due to your pointlessly rude comment on the post "Jesus ain't got time for shit",

User avatar #467 to #466 - captainfuckitall (08/25/2013) [-]
I wasn't pointlessly rude. If you read it more carefully, you would find I am not insulting your god or faith, but rather, the people who spread it about; and even they are just doing it to themselves, while I am mearly making an observation

It's ironic you call me tryhard, considering you just went through the time to thumb-down my last 20 comments as if it would have any effect on me personally or my ranking here. It's also odd you call me stupid, considering you were the one who read it uncorrectly. And I think the fact I have so many comment thumbs anyways (including my own jesus comment) speaks to the point that I am, in fact, quite hilarious. "Feelfag", is that supposed to be a derogatory term for someone who is passionate about certain things? If so, then I take pride in it, as it is only through passion that things grow.

Considering you are pretentious, arrogant, immature, and without a sense of humour; you fit the criteria for '12 year old funnyjunker' far better than I do.

It's ironic how you talk about avoiding situations, when your very comment isn't needed considering I already explained, about five times now, that I do not mean you must 'abuse' your children in order to get good results. My comment, and all the comments afterwards, were about how when compassion and support fails you must turn to punishment and discipline, including simply smacking your kid upside the head
