That's not even the definition of atheism.

The definition of atheism is simply the lack of a belief in god. Just like the lack of belief in the toothfairy. Wikipedia states that most inclusively, atheism is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist.

But by not believing that any deities do exist, it must then hold true that you believe that no deities exist. Plus, looking at the word itself and its peers; monotheism, belief in one god. Pantheism, belief in many gods. Any other word such as those deals with belief, yet the prefix "a" somehow converts that to mean only lack of belief and not belief in no god? Call me pretentious, but I'm going to have to say Wikipedia is wrong on this. After all, it is the free encyclopedia anyone can edit, what, apart from mods and edit reverts, is to prevent me from going on and changing the definition of atheism to "a strong feeling that you have a purple echidna in your left pants leg"?

First of all pantheism is not the belief in many gods, polytheism is. Already shows how ignorant you actually are on this subject.

Second of all not believing in something and because certain that your position is true are two different things. The reason i do not believe in god is because i have no reason to believe in him, that does not mean that i hold that to be true. It just means that i first need evidence to validate that claim.

The prefix "a" LITERALLY means you lack something. Just like Asexuality. The prefix "a" in asexual means that the person has no sexual preference just like the "a" in theism means that they lack a theistic belief.

Wikipedia doesn't just allow you to randomly edit stuff, you first need the approval of magical fairy princesss and mods. The article is an accurate description of atheism and that is a fact.

True on pantheism, been a while since I've heard its definition and the bloody idiots around me always get the two confused, must have rubbed off. Just like how they don't know the difference between agnosticism and atheism, it's painful at times. An inaccurate memory does not equal ignorance though, and as I am definitely not proprietor of an eidetic memory, that wasn't very nice.

Not believing god exists is the same as believing it does not. It's not arbitrary. There's no Schrodingerian position in which god simultaneously is and is not believed in because you do not believe it does. Until you have evidence that it does not exist, you believe it does not.
Now, should I call you ignorant for your lapse in coherence in that first sentence, or should I accept that people make mistakes? I think the latter.

Asexuals believe they have no sexual preference. And it's not physical as far as I'm concerned, asexuality is purely mental as sexual attraction relies on the brain. if people believe they have no sexual attractions to others, then do atheists not believe they have no higher power to believe in?

And you know how there's an edit button at the top right of a page on Wikipedia? Kinda means ANYBODY can edit so long as they can find that button. No permission needed, there just has to be a check BY a mod or magical fairy princess and approval from the same.

Whatever kind of definition you put on it the premise remains the same. God is a claim that has no evidence therefor there is no reason to believe in it. So in the end you can call it whatever you want but atheism is still nothing more than a skeptical position.
