Actually, the only health issues with Heroin is the risk of overdosing. I'm not sayin that ISN'T bad...because it fucking is. The idea of suddenly dying....because that's how toxic it is....is terrifying to some. But to people who have nothing left to live for? They either end teir miserable lives or get an amazing, numbing euphoria which takes them away from all the shit temporarily. And apparently that's too difficult for people/tards to understand. These people are ill. They are suffering. Why are you labelling them as scumbags? They aren't out to hurt anyone, and they're hurting themselves because they dont like their lives.
Unlike alcohol, honestly the only thing heroin does is it might suppress your appetite a lot, and that's how people end up underweight. It's not the actual drug itself which destroys people's health, its the circumstances which come after you get yourself addicted. Because you prioritize getting your gear, nothing else matters i.e: Eating, sleeping, etc.
It also stops you feeling. And I don't mean just the bad feelings - oh no they come back - but Loving. Caring. Compassion. Excitement. Empathy. Why do addicts rob elderly people and things like that? Because their emotions are gone and they just want their fix. (I know that's pretty obvious but there you go.) You become a zombie in all aspects.
I have never once robbed another person the whole time I had an addiction. I went to some pretty disgusting lows to get the money, but I was never dishonest and never stole, and that's the truth. Yet of course to everyone else "all Junkies rob people and commit crime".

indeed it is, coming from someone who gets "JUNKIE WHORE" "BAGHEAD" shouted at them at least 3 times a week. I do agree that the stigma does not help the people who have made that life choice.
"wow that person has made a stupid life choice, let's yell abuse at them"
is how the general public like to deal with it.

I have never really understood the outlaw of drugs, there is crime related to it but that's worse while its illegal. With proper regulation it wouldn't be as bad and the government would save so much money. I suppose you would have to deal with the health problems but there wouldn't be as much abuse since it it would be legal, I bet lots of people have done drugs for pretty much that reason I know I have, plus you have all the money saved from the law side. But really I'm just vomiting up my mind onto a post my opinion doesn't matter.

I didn't mean to put you on the spot. I think you have a great point but also we've got to realize there's a reason some drugs hold the stigma, thinking of families who had sons/daughters, brothers/sisters who died from overdoses on heroin and other class A's. Heroin is like walking a tightrope. You can fall to your death by adding one mil more in a needle than you're used to. It only takes one mistake and once you're under you dont even realise you'll be dead in seconds. I'm pretty sure weed doesn't do that.

for what reasons? I'm not against it, i'm a recovering addict. Just interested to hear your reasons why we should?
User avatar #145 - camslayer (10/27/2014) [-]
The way I see it is that a lot of drugs are vilified, if i went up to a mate and said "I smoked this great weed the other day" they probably wouldn't care but if I went up to the same guy and told him about this great hit of smack I had the other day that would be a different story. If we can decriminalize drugs on a personal use level then I believe people would be more open to talking about it as an addiction than as a crime and overall the quality of life for people who are addicted can be improved as equipment and help can be given with less of a stigma.
Portugal has decriminalized drugs to great success with a drop in drug related crime. Now I am not a recovering addict like you so I suppose I may be ill informed on the whole thing but this is just the way I see it and you put me on the spot.

I'm not experienced enough in those to run them, but I can find someone who can! And I'll gladly join in with you!

nWoD is actually a series of games pertaining to different groups of monsters! There's one where you play werewolves, one for vampires, one for Frankenstein-esque monsters, one for ghosts, one for mummies, one for wizards, one for faeries, one for monster hunters, and many, many more, especially if you include fanmade additions like Genius: The Transgression!

Exalted has several different groups of Exalts to play as, each of which plays like a different game in its own way, but all of which mesh well!

Solars are chosen of the Unconquered Sun, biggest and baddest of the bossest. They are the true rulers of creation, but suffer from a curse that makes them turn into the ultimate douchebags if they aren't careful!

Lunars are shapeshifters chosen by Luna, the trickster moon god. They are the generals and advisors and mates of the solars, and will gladly yiff in hell, but plan on taking you with them. They also wanna bang everybody.

Sidereals are supernatural ninja douchers who weave fate and bribe the gods of the world into letting them do weird shit like turn arrows into porcupines and love into swords.

The dragon blooded are the weakest but most numerous exalts and currently rule the world. They are elementally aligned, and like the lunars, if they aren't killing you they probably want to fuck you.

Abyssals are tainted Solars turned to the Undead Old Gods, stuck working to overcome the world and drag everything into lifeless oblivion. But maybe there's a way they can redeem themselves...

Infernals are Solars tainted by the demon Yozis, trying to reclaim the world for their eldritch masters. What nobody realizes, though, is that they are slowly but surely evolving into something even more powerful.

Alchemicals. Robots in disguise. Cyberton has space AIDS, but that's alright because you, the benevolent robot overlords, will fix everything!

Infinitely better than 4e. Actually has skill ratings and slightly less fuckery.

Pathfinder is better though. It fixes 99% of 3.5's issues.

I'd be happy to play pathfinder. Rogue trader looks cool as well

Well I might be running a pathfinder game very shortly, seeing as how so many people here wanna try it.

Also, rogue trader is still my all time favorite RPG. Even character creation enforces proper roleplay without being stifligg, and you start out badass and only get badasser.
