any particular reason? i cant think of why it would be less practical than any other knife

well for a start its only good for stabbing people, it has almost non of the utility of a regular knife. It would be a pain in the dick to sharpen, although that isn't massively important. The cover screws on which means you can't draw it quickly or stealthily, would make a decent club though. Plus its massive and really heavy. In almost any situation I would prefer to have a more conventional knife.

I truly wonder when the designer was thinking this edgier-than-thou knife up, why was a sheathe conforming to its shape such a problem? I mean, 3d printing is a thing nowadays.

valid points. i was only considering the stabing and killing.

well even then if you get the drop on someone one stab would probably kill them and with a regular knife there's options to slash and it would be thinner for slipping into small gaps in armour.

Ahh yes, to get around the plate armor that people wear on a daily basis. Also the human body is surprisingly hardy, unless it's a magic or very well placed Stab, one stab isn't going to kill you, especially with modern medicine, and definitely not right away. The point of this knife is to make a wound that is difficult to suture and to fix. Chances are that in a knife fight, both parties are going to get hurt very badly and stabbed many times. Getting treated is your main avenue of survival, and a tribladed knife makes wounds that are very hard to treat. For that use, it's a decent implement

>plate armour
Obviously not, I meant more kevlar.
If you cut an artery a person will die very quickly, I think your over-stating how easy it is to survived a well placed stab/slash.

A stab is more effective than a slash anyway, slashing away with a knife is a very ineffective technique if you're trying to kill someone. And I'm sorry I forgot about the Kevlar armor that people wear on a daily basis.and the whole point is that a well aimed stab/slash is difficult and definitely not guaranteed in a fight. Even then, chances are that it won't kill the other guy fast enough before he can retaliate if he has a knife too

Well I'm not even saying that the triblade knife thing isn't effective just that its impractical, in most situations a normal knife is better to have. In a knife fight between 2 random people there would be lots of flailing and slashing anyway, the first guy to get a decent stab/slash in would probably win. If however its 2 people who actually know what hey are doing I don't think it would be out of the realm of possibility that they would be in an environment where they would be using armour of some sort and in such a situation there would likely be a killing blow quickly.
