Yes, but trayvon started beating him up. Trayvon didnt have to do that. Zimmerman shouldnt have followed him, but Trayvon sure as hell shouldnt have attacked him like he did.
Also, what does skin color have to do with it? I dont take white people being killed personally, they do not suddenly mean so much more to me than black people being skilled because of their race. im not affected by their deaths unless I actually knew them.
Why should this personally effect someone who's black, when all they know is from what they "see all over the TV"
User avatar #77 - camblea (07/16/2013) [-]
I know that if someone is following me when I'm walking in car then gets out and starts to pursue me then I'm gonna do something about it, or maybe I should just bitch out and run. Black people are taking this so seriously because there is a system that is formed to oppress black people, believe it or not.some black people are just tired of things like this happening first from the police but it seems like now the green light has been given for anyone to do things like this and get away with it, which is the exact same thing that went on back in the jim crow days; 1850's to about the 1950's
User avatar #78 - WtfStrawberries (07/16/2013) [-]
So, someones following you. You attack them because of that? You really think that justifies attacking someone?
You're basically saying its a bitch move to not attack someone who's following you. They aren't hurting you, what in any way does following someone validate getting attacked? Call the police, tell them you are being followed by someone, get the fuck away if you don't like it. But thats like punching someone for giving you a funny look. Its unjustified.
And i know there are parts of the system that do oppress black people, but its basing everything on race like that that cause it to be that way anyways.

I understand what you're saying and that is not right but if you have lived or been in a bad neighborhood, you have to think quick like that to prevent from getting hurt first. Doesn't sound logical but you have to be tough. Calling the police may have saved his life, but sometimes that is not an option.

True. But you obviously live in a good neighborhood. The whole point is people should respect other people, they were both in the wrong but it made matters worse that he felt he needed to shoot trayvon, watch this video........www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh03yNOoiHvc9AQ83I

you forget to mention the part when mentioned kid is on top of the guy, beating him up.
But, original anon said "more accurately: shoot a black guy who's trying to kill YOU, racism racism erhmagerd."
everybody was crying racism, that thats why he shot him. The entire media was glorifying Trayvon, and criminalizing Zimmerman simply for the fact that Trayvon was black.
Its not okay for what zimmerman did, but Trayvon was beating him up.
The example i give was a pretty similar instance, just the actual scenario was more extreme. One is said to be completely innocent, the other completely guilty simply because of skin color.
User avatar #72 - camblea (07/16/2013) [-]
A KID on top of a MAN beating him up? He had baby scratches on his head and a cut on his nose. Don't believe everything you hear. The media had to play it that way because everyone knew zimmerman was gonna be not guilty. Race plays so much into this because zimmerman's profile had racial slurs toward mexicans, plus if it was reversed the black guy would of been in jail that night and not up to 30 days later. But we all have our opinions about it, anybody that thinks it was racist need to stand up and find a solution for this not to happen again, to "black people."

if its so obvious.... then why do so many people agree?
You provide no proof. Saying its "obvious", when it really isnt.
Thats your point of view, just because someone else has a different point of veiw does not make them ignorant.
Ignorance is when someone doesnt have the knowledge or info.... which you obviously do not, or else you would have provided it by now, hmm?
There have been so many cases, where if a caucasion kid gets into a fight with an african american kid in school, racism is called down upon the white kid. And the african american one would typically get off with little or no punishment at all.
Complete ignorance.
User avatar #67 - camblea (07/15/2013) [-]
So since fights happen and the results are what you claimed then it is ok for a man to follow a kid in his car, get discovered by the kid, get out of the car follow the kid, then gets confronted by the kid for being following him, then the man that followed that kid kills that kid? Not a complete sentence but you're comparing two things that are not similar.
