Damn, been a while since I've been in Roman history and that. x_x

In real life, we can only speculate that Caesar managed to say; "et tu Brute?" but then you have to realize, Caesar got stabbed 37 times with Gladius', the Roman sword. That's some significant damage, and I'd be surprised if he lived for more then a few minutes afterwards.

I actually never learned how Caesar died. Though I always assumed he was just pummeled to death. Couldn't have been more wrong, haha.

Nope Brutus and the other Senators ganged up on him and stabbed him to death, then left him to die under the statue of Pompey, the previous leader Caesar killed to assume power over Rome.

Huh. Good to know. Actually I kind of took the hint that the other Senators killed him from the painting in the textbook. T'would defeat a purpose to have those people there and have them do nothing if they want to overthrow Caesar.

I thought it was because Caesar was planning on declaring himself Emperor...

He was, which in term would remove the Senators from power.

Would explain a lot.
