Actually the original name was just quite literally Death God.
#10 - nickmandemon (05/20/2013) [-]
Actually you're both wrong. It's called bleach because of ichigos hair. It's not normal for Japanese people to have orange hair, so the reason ichigo is all tough and stuff in the beginning is because people assume he bleaches his hair to be different or cool, and they want to fight him.
User avatar #11 - Petroleum (05/20/2013) [-]
Okay, we're all wrong, because,

"The series was originally meant to be named "Black" due to the color of the Soul Reapers' clothes, but Kubo thought the title was too generic. He later tried the name of "White," but came to like "Bleach" more for its association with the color white and that he did not find it too obvious."

That's word for word from Wikipedia, and I trust those guys.
#19 - N. Korean citizen (05/20/2013) [-]
You're still wrong.

It's called "Bleach" because Kubo didn't want a generic or obvious name like "White" or "Black" but he wanted a name that was simple in the same sense. He settled on "Bleach" because it was symbolic of the soul reapers purifying the souls of the dead people while still being cool and spicy. In some Asian countries black and white mean something like guilty and innocent, the soul reapers not only send the souls of dead people to "heaven" (soul society) but purify the souls of hollows as well. I think bleach is very fitting don't you think?
#13 - nickmandemon (05/20/2013) [-]
There's even a guy thats in one of the first couple chapters that claims ichigo "stole" his hairstyle because he bleached it, but ichigo's hair is naturally that way.
#12 - nickmandemon (05/20/2013) [-]
Just because people who like anime argue so much, that is one subject i would just not trust Wikipedia for. I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure I've read in one of the manga books or one of the art books that the reason i said was the reason.

Hey! Just got bored so might as well talk to you. How are you, how's your voicing stuff been going?
#17 - kolpster (04/21/2013) [-]
Just painted up a squad of Shoota Boyz.
Not to high standard, but still tabletop.
How's yours going? Started playing yet?

Well, none of my projects so far have been finished. However, I have been doing freelance voice acting in various projects. For example, I have done roughly 15-20 different voices for a Dawn of War mod. Also, I am doing some voice acting for a company called Mountainwheel, a project named Stonerage, look it up, its awesome!

And then some machinimas and such, a few other games aswell :) nothing big yet... oh and a little thing for Valve aswell
User avatar #23 to #22 - kolpster (04/21/2013) [-]
Holy crap sounds amazing!
Well, your life is set for you, 'ey?
What're you doing with VALVe? I'm interested...

A L4D 1 and 2 mod, which is backed by Valve and if they like it, it will be implemented in the game... possibly

Nice miniatures.

Hahah thanks! FINALLY someone who understands :D

I don't get it either really... It pains me when people say "Nice job" when they obviously haven't even tried to do a good job... so yea.

And no... Nuln oil isn't a miracle wash that makes everything look nice
#4 to #3 - kolpster (04/14/2013) [-]
I'm starting 40k (Should get my delivery tomorrow hopefully) so I'll keep that in mind.
What wash should I use, I'm starting Orks.
User avatar #5 to #4 - bulwark (04/14/2013) [-]
Well, I haven't painted that many orks. However, usually you should use a wash that matches the color. So for the green skin, get a green wash, for metal things, like weapons and such, use Nuln for a clean wash or Agrax Earthshade for a sort of dirty look. It works especially well with brass and bronze colors
User avatar #6 to #5 - kolpster (04/14/2013) [-]
Thanks.
It could of arrived today, but no post on Sundays.
User avatar #7 to #6 - bulwark (04/14/2013) [-]
Dear god, don't remind me, haha xD
User avatar #8 to #7 - kolpster (04/14/2013) [-]
It said 3-9 days, But it'll be coming on the 8-9th day. A shame really, as I wanted to get a few painted before I go back to school.

So, do you only play Chaos?
User avatar #9 to #8 - bulwark (04/14/2013) [-]
Yea, you can never count of the post being early :p hehe

It would be a shame to say that I play Chaos... I don't play at all really. I do want to yea, but in this little shit town where I live, no one plays... so yea.

I bought the Dark Vengeance box to be able to play 1v1 skirmishes at home. thats all I play :p

I am more of the painter type. I prefer to just paint and do conversions and such... so I do very different stuff. Right now I am going through my DV box and I also have a Chaos Fantasy Battalion in store.

However, I do have ONE project in mind. I want to buy a bunch of tyranids and make them look Nurglish. I know fluff wise, it doesn't work that way, but I like the idea :)

#10 to #9 - kolpster (04/14/2013) [-]
Cool.
I Had a few Space Marines, (15 and a bike) But I hadn't a clue how to paint them, so it wasn't very good. Also, I didn't have clippers and I rushed so it led so semi-sideways guns. I did manage to paint one surprisingly well, but then I ran out of paint.
I tried using Reeves (as it is cheap) but it isn't very good, the colours were off.
So after all this time I've decided to pick it up again, and start to play.
The GW near me is okay, though I could go to a club or something :P I've ordered the Battleforce, and I'll see how well I can paint it all.

Also, I've thought of playing 'Nids down the line, I think I like to have more models.
User avatar #11 to #10 - bulwark (04/14/2013) [-]
Sweet :) I used to have alot more Warhammers aswell when I was younger. then I lost interest. So it's like... 10 years ago since the last time I painted, so I am still "new" to it :) hehe. I played Blood Angels back then, had like, 4 tactical squads, 4 assault squads, 3 terminator squads, 1 was assault. then I had 2 dreadnought, 5 landspeeders, 10 bikes and a land raider crusader xD oh and then the random mish mash of other figures like lizardmen, orks, necrons, dark eldar and such...

then I moved to my moms place and my dads house went on fire... good bye all my warhammers

We only have one GW in the entire country and it is like 200km away... so fuck that :p

And if you like to have lots of units then yea, nids and orks are the way to go :p
#12 to #11 - kolpster (04/14/2013) [-]
Yeah, Warhammer doesn't work well with fire for some reason...
What country are you in anyway?
I have a store within 5 miles, go look on GW's website, under store finder do the things and it'll find other places that play Warhammer.
Make sure to tick both boxes, mind.

I'd like to see more of what you've painted, anything. You seem to be quite good at it ;)

I'll just keep posting Ork reaction pics.
#13 to #12 - bulwark (04/14/2013) [-]
Denmark :p and I know there are some people who play in a club or something in a nearby town... however, I am not interested in playing with them, I know who they are and I don't like them xD

www.flickr.com/photos/carnorus-rex/

Check out my Flickr :P not all my miniatures are equally good, some are downright horrible... but still alot better than most of the stuff people post here xD haha
#14 to #13 - kolpster (04/14/2013) [-]
The space marines are better than the cultists by far.
But still, pretty amazing.
I know someone who's going professional, so I can always ask for tips.

Why don't you like these people anyway?

<Not mine, but I'm running out of pics :S

Yea, I used to cultists to refresh my memory of painting... so I didn't fuck the marines up all too badly :p hehe

oh thats pretty cool, I envy those guys who get their stuff in White Dwarf :p

Because they're typical wannabe types. They think they're awesome for playing Warhammer and they don't have the slightest knowledge of the lore.

Its like "Duurrr hurr, Spess Mahreens is sooo awesome, I would be a good space marine if it was real life... Blood for the bloodgod, skulls for the skullthrone"
#16 to #15 - kolpster (04/14/2013) [-]
Indeed.
I had an old version of 'Eavy metal, and when I say old I mean when years didn't start with 20.
The colours were terrible, a tank was just red.
Nowadays it has gotten so much better, using drills and glue to make effects. I doubt I'd forget how to paint, as I never took it that high. But by Gork and Mork, if I ever do I'll be so darn happy.

But you're right, they have no idea how it all works.

Well, I'm learning how to play TWD's theme, I'll still talk but I'll need breaks. :P
