Well...There's legends, which is what i'm focusing on, and is currently a resource for the new canon.

Infinities, which is just flat out non-canon.

and finally there's Canon, which doesn't have any name, it's just canon. Anything made after april 2014 is automatically canon, anything made from legends is now a resource, which means that basically the characters and stuff in the legends continuity are able to be used by future authors of any new game, comic, TV show, or novel.

oh a ship is a term for relationship. so shippers are people who pair fantasy relationships in avatar and shipping is the verb. "who do you ship?" "I ship katara and aang, also known as kataang" really kinda silly stuff :P
