So what? If people want to lose weight or quit smoking to look better, they will become healthy in the process so why worry? If people want to lose weight so others will like them more, that's still doing it for themselves. They want others to view them as nice and let's face it, no one on the planet is totally immune to not caring what others things. When other people like and approve of us, it makes us happier.
#118 - buffygifs (11/25/2015) [-]
People KEEP smoking because they are afraid to gain weight from quitting. Because most people do gain weight from smoking. Then, you have crash diets and a weight lost industry that rakes in over $1 billion a year with tons of lies and false promises. Someone who loses weight is not necessarily healthier because of it.

Well suicide IS a clearly gendered topic, so yeah.

It was a mens day in general and the main topic the college was talking about was male suicide. Men can't even have a general day about them talking about basic rights and their problems without protect from feminists.

In fairness, neither do women. There is Women's History Month, but that has nothing to do with current rights and issues.

If that's what they're doing, that would be great. But as it is, at least my understanding, most feminists focus on female suicide and completely ignore male suicide.

Brianna, is that you? Did Anita put you up to this?
#17 to #16 - buffygifs (06/21/2015) [-]
I said this before, but I will say it again. I have been a FJer for years, but I decided I wanted a new profile with no connections to other profiles or indicators of who I am or where I live. It was after GG because I was seeing what was happening to some people (women and men) and also wanted a profile completely anonymous to be open about being transgender. I have, in fact gotten a few very harsh messages on here, so my paranoia is somewhat justified. After all, you could've googled my previous username and easily found who I am.
User avatar #18 to #17 - krobeles (06/21/2015) [-]
Wait...You what? You become paranoid due to "harsh messages"? How the **** do you function? Rather poorly, I imagine.

Unhealthy levels of delusional paranoia notwithstanding, I'de like to hear why you think the feminists are worth a damn. I mean, you write that you're a "Feminist apologist" and I'de like to hear why that is.
#19 to #18 - buffygifs (06/21/2015) [-]
Paranoid about my identity being in public while I was talking about controversial issues after seeing GG blow up. After all, I have strong views. And, by the way "harsh" is a gross understatement. Hate speech might be more accurate. I would show you, but I delete the worst ones after reporting them.

Basically, I defend feminism/feminists in general. (Not feminazis.) Honestly, all the god-awful comments I see on the countless anti-feminist (and sometimes plain old misogynistic) posts on the front page on FJ has made me start to speak out.
User avatar #20 to #19 - krobeles (06/21/2015) [-]
Why do you give a **** ? I have strong views, and several people have said that they would beat me to a pulp if they ever saw me irl and a few has even said they'de kill me.
You know what I did? Give them my adress, and tell them when I'de be home and a brief description of what I look like. You know what came of that? Nothing.
People make empty threats all the time. You'de have to be a marvelous wimp or marvelously gullible to take any of it seriously.

There aren't really any feminists left, though. Feminism has become affiliated with the rampaging hambeasts of Tumblr, not the sensible and kind people like Based Mom. When people refer to a "Feminist" they dont refer to people like Summers, they refer to the insane feminazi crowd. Unless you're trying to reclaim the word, I think you're being silly.
Again, people make god-aweful comments on the internet, because its the internet. As I allready said, you'de have to be a marvelous twit to take it seriously.
Do you seriously find it odd that people would make god-aweful anti-feminist comments, looking at what the feminists has done lately?

Comeon, be a bit realistic...

It is too big to post on FJ, so here it is on imgur:

I think I found this one on knowyourmeme.com . I remembered seeing a smaller pic of hentai quotes on FJ once and searched for "Funny Hentai Quotes" or some **** .

Got a favorite episode?
#4 to #3 - buffygifs (09/07/2014) [-]
I originally had a more detailed answer but Firefox crapped out on me. So, I'll give the short version:
There are two:
Doppelgangland (season 3): This is when real Willow meets Vampire Willow. It is really well-written, funny, and unpredictable. Also, I love Willow and this is all willow. Extra points for making Anya (as a human) a reoccurring character and for subtly hinting Willow's homosexuality.
From Wikipedia:
Shocked upon seeing her alter ego in "Doppelgangland", Willow states "That's me as a vampire? I'm so evil and skanky. And I think I'm kinda gay." Angel is stopped by Buffy in telling the Scoobies that the vampire self carries many of the same attributes as the human self.
It probably also contributed to Willow gaining a sense of fashion before college.

Once More, with Feeling (season 6): The famous musical episode. The beacon of hope (with Tabula Rassa after it) in the depression-filled wasteland of grounded drama that is season 6. (Almost) everyone likes a good musical episode. The music itself is decent. The best part about it is how the singing pushes all the plots (the secrets every character has been hiding) along. After all, no one needed more "drama" of Xander and Anya bickering about telling about their engagement

>pic related: Willow's nonexistent fashion-sense in the start of the series

No worries, it's a great answer and probably better than any than I can give.

I think if I had to select a favorite episode, I would have to look for one for every character since they each have their own development.
But Once More, with Feeling is one of them, I got the songs on my mp3 player and listen to them from time to time. The aftermath is pretty heavy.

I liked how Willow changed over the series, I sort of missed her character from school and innocent character, she did turn pretty badass though.

My favorite character was Spike (James Marsters), from slayer killer, chipped to hero.
Mostly for the quick wit and the different character than Angel, I just found him more interesting and his background was pretty pained from Angel as well.

I probably need to freshen up on some episodes again, I haven't talked with another fan in decades.

Picture just for spike related.

It is impressive that it has been decades since you talked to one if the show ended around 10 years ago.

I liked Spike more as a villain than as an anti-hero. He sort of lost some of his charm somewhere along the line. His background was pretty amazing. If I had to pick a favorite episode for him, it would definitely be the one where he fights Robin Wood in season 7.
And well, he looked snazzy with red

My favorite part of Willow's character development (easily the best in any TV show) is that she didn't change as much as grow. It felt somewhat organic and grounded. She definitely loses her charmed innocence, but everyone has to eventually.

Simply how it feels, not literally.

I even watched Angel to get more of the old Buffy feelings back, was quite surprised when I saw Spike again. (And yeah, he does pull off that red color very well.)
It got to the point that I watched for his deal than Angel, just considering some of the plot twists and how the show ended.

While I did like Willow, I also liked Xander in the early years since he was rather easy to recognize with at some moments. Willow got to be a witch but Xander was just a human.

I don't think I will ever forget the cast, they are so easily recognizable such as how Alyson was in How I met your mother/American pie or James being so willing to do acting in full body makeup. (shame on me for saying dragonball.)

I'd like to think that Lily and Willow are actually the same person in alternate universes (because why not).

It is still weird to me to see Alyson play such sexually-minded character. I mean, her whole shtick in American Pie was the shock factor of her rampant sexuality, and I saw that before I saw Buffy, but she will always be Willow. It is just like how Emma Watson will always be Hermione to some people.

It also doesn't hurt that she seems to have found the secret to the fountain of youth a long time ago so the only thing that really ever changes is her hair.
