john hurt isnt the doctor, i dont want to sound like a prick but it seems like im the only one that actually understood that.
the doctor and john hurt are the same being but Hurt wasnt the doctor.

im sorry what part of "i never said he was the doctor" did i not understand? he is the same entity as the doctor but he isnt one of the 11 because he isnt worthy of the title. he didnt lock the memory away, he just keeps it a secret because he is ashamed of what needed to be done because it wasnt done in the name of the Doctor.

John hurt is either the man who became the first doctor (regenerated and took on the name) or the 9th regeneration where he was too ashamed with his actions during the time war to keep his name of the doctor, then when he regenerated he became the 9th doctor but the tenth regeneration.

if i remember rightly he was before the 9th to account for his time while the series was off the air. and yea basically he did something that was so dark and grim that he wasnt worthy of the name Doctor. it makes smith the 12 regen but still the 11 doctor. (well in theory since they never say the 1st doctor was his first regen anyway.)

i think. this doctor will possibly be the 9th doctor making ecclestein(sorry if spelt wrong) the 10th and tennant the 11th and so on. this doctor will be the one that has condemned his people and committed crimes so severe that he was no longer called the doctor

but thats the point. Thats what the doctor meant when he said "i said he was me, i never said he was the Doctor"

yes. sry a lot of people are going "smith is now 12th and that makes hurt the 9th sherpa derpa" but thats stupid anyway because we have no real idea how many doctors there have been, since he may have regenerated before the first series in the 60s. i think he is 500 in the first series or something cant really remember.
