| Oh, I might've read that wrong. I have celiac, though it's more or less an allergic reaction on my end. Swelling, hives, ulcers, and stomach aches are the main issue. I wouldn't say it's an allergy that you're born with, some people even develop it over time. I wouldn't mind explaining it, if you're looking for actual information on it. Though it is annoying that it's become more of a fad than something to actually deal with. I hope for your sake it doesn't lead to more auto-immune disorders. It appears its more common for it to develop in late teens +, so it's not often something you're born with. Keep in mind however that the reaction isn't an allergic reaction because proteins do not have allergic reactions, it's a gluten intolerance. They chose intolerance over allergy for proteins because the way your body reacts to proteins is a little different (with negative reactions), although it does have some similar symptoms and the full reason behind it is unknown to be me as I don't have any sort of medical degree, but it seems they've decided to label it as "whatever protein you have an issue with" intolerance. | ||

So a few things here to educate you on. Firstly, proteins don't have allergic reactions which is why there is no such thing as a gluten allergy. Gluten is just a fucking protein. As of right now doctors haven't discovered or labeled any reactions to proteins that can be defined as allergies, instead they have found that people can have protein intolerance. It's similar but it isn't the same thing, and it's wrong to say you have a protein allergy, but you can say you have a protein intolerance for a specific protein. The only diagnosed disease that has anything to do with gluten intolerance is celiac disease. No other disease has gluten intolerance, and I'll grant its entirely possible that people have had auto-immune disorders and doctors assumed that if they had a bad reaction to gluten that they had celiacs because auto-immune disorders tend to lead to more auto-immune disorders, and it's possible that by doing so they have missed a disease that also has a similar intolerance of gluten, but it's extremely unlikely because anyone with a REAL gluten intolerance all have the same symptoms, which are fortunately very obvious. Other than that I have never seen any document or source that actually mentions a gluten intolerance that isn't celiac disease. I can't provide a source for anything because I myself can't find any example of any thing other than celiacs or as I've said before mental "allergies" that cause you to have real reactions. #72 -

| I could actually eat something and show you before and after pictures of the roof of my mouth if you'd like. Gluten allergy isn't mental, I eat things I shouldn't daily because it tastes great. I really just think you've been misinformed, there's a ton of nuts right now who are giving people with celiac disease a bad name. If you can be allergic to things like latex, baby powder, cinnamon, and nuts, why can't you be allergic to gluten? Because gluten is a protein and no protein has an allergy. There is something called protein intolerance, so you can have a gluten intolerance, but it isn't an allergy and shouldn't be called an allergy. It's incredible unlikely, but not impossible, that you have a real gluten intolerance (unless you have celiac), however if you think you do, then you have a mental gluten intolerance which is actually the same thing because your body will react anyway because it thinks it supposed to react to it and those reactions are how the body protects itself from danger. None the less, the only gluten intolerance that has been diagnosed (that I have myself found searching in this subject) is celiac disease. Funnily enough, that actually can cause mouth ulcers, so you might just have celiac disease. Oh, I might've read that wrong. I have celiac, though it's more or less an allergic reaction on my end.
