i used to do tae kwon do. there was no brown belt. the order was
white
white with yellow stripe
yellow
yellow with green stripe
green
green with blue stripe
blue
blue with red stripe
red
red with one black stripe
red with two black stripes
red with three black stripes
black
then black with gold stripes
the gold stripes go from one to seven

As a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, you're both wrong.
The reason for that isn't that you got the order wrong, it's simply that every school is different.

Thank you, I'm a 2nd Dan instructor at a Martial Arts school where we teach Tae Kwon Do as pretty much a primary martial art, and from what I've seen, every school differs. Our school has like 4 more belts the any other school in the surrounding area.
