I'd argue that the basis of needing/not needing is purely a condition of region, and some groups of humans may have adapted differently than others.

I respectfully disagree, and argue that the knife/stab comparison is much different and much less complex than the biological processes of the human [and ancient human] body.

Then again, we never really needed them based off of that logic, but had that not happened, we would have remained agriculturalist and with no help from the work animals, would have invested more time into the farm [so to speak] and leave little to no room for leisure and the pursuit of other technologies. [insert more farm animals helped us get where we are now logic, etc]. Nonetheless, it's much too culturally ingrained in many countries for it to change anywhere near soon.

Humans are also known to violently murder and consume each other, but we don't like to think about that...
And that was a false analogy, since eating meat has nothing to do with whether or not you go out and kill people.

I'm not going to argue with you on whatever reasons you choose to not enjoy all foods, especially since it means more glorious bacon for me, but I'm just not liking how you throw false equivalences out there. Humans thrived on meat, it kept us alive, it brought us to make clothing and what not, it pushed our technology along and allowed us to stay up in the top of the food chain, and I don't care if you are willing to say that we shouldn't eat meat because it's "wrong" since it's pointless to battle morals/beliefs, as long as you know that our bodies adapted to it and it was essential to early life.

Now go enjoy your tofu, I'm gonna get myself a nice big, meaty sammich.

how did eating meat bring us to make clothing??
most likely, during ice ages and other dire times humans were forced to vary their diet, or we've always been omnivores... this still does not make it any healthier to eat meat...

consuming too much proteins is bad for you, especially saturated proteins found in meat, the same is true for calcium in milk..

Because if we never had the reason to kill the animals, we never would have used their fur.
Eating meat is a natural, healthy way to get many things you need in your diet, without needing to make alternatives.

Consuming too much water is bad for you, too. It's called moderation.

man were gatherers/fruitpickers before we were hunters, hunting just brought more yield in barren circumstances..
eating fruits/nuts/seeds/vegetables is a natural healthy way to get ALL things in your diet, no need for alternatives..

first clothes were fashioned using leaves/moss, after that, we switched over to animal furs, after that, woven goods which brings us to industry..

there is no need to consume meat and consuming as much as the average person does is way too much, leads to many illnesses and a shorter lifespan..

You can believe whatever you want, but I know that meat is delicious, healthy, and I frankly don't care about your opinion. We're all going to die some day, and it's not because of our diets, and I'll rest assured that I ate all the bacon I wanted while you may never get to have such deliciousness.

you know that it is delicious, you don't care that it's unhealthy, what you said was different from this..
i can provide you with scientific proof if u wish..
(though you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know it causes heart disease, clotting of the arteries, CANCER! and many many more negative side-effects)

i've been a 'vegetarian' for a year now, so even if i didn't occasionally treat myself to a nice little piece of meat, i would still know what it tastes like...

which is why i tried to provide you with facts, not opinions..

but i see living healthy is not your priority.

If I worry so much about something like what I eat to the point that I exclude all types of meat, then in my eyes I'll stop actually living. I enjoy going to the store and thinking "Hey, some stir-fry with some of my home-made noodles and some beef sounds good! I think I'll try some of that!" and that is worth the diabetes, heart attacks, clotted arteries, obesity, and cannibalism that you seem to think I'll get.

there's no need to exclude all types of meat, i treat myself to a piece of meat every now and then..
i can walk around the city and think: "i could really go for a bacon sandwich" and just get me one, i just don't buy it in the store and cook it at home.. i bring home 'healthier' products...

meat to me is like fastfood, the reason it tastes so good is because of the amount of rapid sugars and fats it has.. the same reason candy etc tastes good.. it's genetically built in..
