Sheeple, like sheep people?
Is there a vaccination for this?

But seriously, the diseases I listed are things you don't want your child getting. (Should you want one that is.) You'd be more of a sheep should you believe the health scare and put your kid at risk, surely. The report was faked after all.

I don not think banning guns is an option, but the excuse of protecting ourselves from the government is impractical. Do you really think we would stand a chance against them if the wanted to turn on us? So yes, back in the day, it defended the common folk against a well regulated militia.
So why, you may ask, am I in favor of keeping guns. Because it is a right. People like to hunt. I fear the more weapons we ban, the more that will appear in the Black Market. It also seems rather pointless, because now that the Assault Rifle ban is being passed, everyone is buying assault guns now, which in turn will grandfather them in, and a ton of people will have their hands on them any way.

TL;DR Guns won't help us defend against the gvn't, but is a right we have nonetheless.

That whole 'right to bear arms' shit may have held up back when it was first written, because back then it would have actually made sense. You think having a semi-automatic rifle like either of those above is going to stop the American Government's military from obliterating your existence at the press of a button? It's absolute bollocks.

Enjoying holding back any proper military forces with those pea-shooters, though as you are American you undoubtedly believe that you could.
#500 - arkfire (02/01/2013) [-]
You do know that 90% the military would not fire on its own civilians?
#505 - maldruzard (02/01/2013) [-]
I'd like to see you statistical evidence, or any past US military history that would say the same. Besides, the actual troops themselves wouldn't be needed to handle a fullscale uprising against a 'tyrannical government'... Just lots and lots of long range missiles controlled by that alleged '10%' of yours is all that they would need. So start learning to hit tomahawks with your AR-15s and maybe that 'right' would seem necessary.
#509 - arkfire (02/01/2013) [-]
What government would order missile strikes on its' own country? And the military would join the people most likely.
#513 - maldruzard (02/01/2013) [-]
The right to bear arms, as stated by your law, is to stop tyrannical and corrupt governments from dominating you. What 'tyrannical' government would hesitate to strike it's own country to stay in control?
#521 - arkfire (02/01/2013) [-]
What military would fire on it's own people?

"... though as you are American you undoubtedly believe that you could. "

You condescending, generalizing jackass.
#492 - maldruzard (02/01/2013) [-]
Your own comment rules out the whole 'generalizing' aspect of that. And yes, I'm being condescending, because people like you just seem to blindly flout ancient, outdated and irrelevant documents to justify ridiculous gun laws which cause the deaths of innocent people. I have nothing against America as a whole, that last little line there was a little aggressive, I apologise.

I notice, though, you haven't addressed anything I said apart from that. You know, the on-topic stuff that actually matters.
#506 - arkfire (02/01/2013) [-]
Did you just call my Bill of Rights outdated and irrelevant? Those "outdated" documents give me the right to speak freely, the right to a trial with a jury, and the right to not have my stuff taken by police without a warrant. The irrelevant documents are pretty important to me.
#510 - maldruzard (02/01/2013) [-]
No, I called the right to bear arms outdated and irrelevant, as I stated. Most other civilised and developed country with gun bans in place have the rest of those rights, and lower gun-crime rates relative to their population size.

And also, most other developed countries also don't need aged documents for basic human rights and decency.
#520 - arkfire (02/01/2013) [-]
You know there is this town where everyone owns a gun and guess what? It has been murder free for 25 years. http://www.wnd. com/2007/04/41196/
#528 - maldruzard (02/01/2013) [-]
Good for them. Tell them to give their secrets to the rest of the United States, where gun-crime rates are, in fact, very high. There are always exceptions to any rule, and having more guns is not direct causation to more murders, its just a very close correlation.
#661 - arkfire (02/01/2013) [-]
The secret is that every head of the house was required to own a gun.
#669 - maldruzard (02/01/2013) [-]
That philosophy doesn't work so well in Switzerland. There are 88 guns per 100 Americans, so even counting multiple-gun owners you can be sure a hell of a lot of families have guns. I'd say that town is incredibly lucky in terms of mental health/psychopath numbers.
