My aunt did die. She died from cancer at the age of 44. Her husband died a few years later also from cancer. I'm more sad for my cousins and their kids for not having parents and grandparents anymore. This eggman on the other hand was 86 years old. Lived a full life. Kids, grandkids. 86 is a good age to die. Any longer is a burden on your family. I would never want to live longer than that. Probably because i'm scared of dementia the most.
So what I'm trying to say is I hope your mother dies. How dare you wish death upon some persons aunt (or anybody in that case). She could be a single mother. Leave a bunch of kids without parents. Doesn't feel nice when someone wishes death upon you and yours I bet. And over what? Some 86 year old geezer who you've never met before? That's despicable. Hope you're kids die too because you're a piece of shit and I fear they'll turn out like you.

All mine did, didn't cry, why would i? And why you faggots cry for someone you had absolutely 0 relations, 0 relations to anyone that did have relations to him, Just pointless and pathetic.. BUT for your argument. Better start crying because people die ALL the fucking time... Plenty of people die as i write this too you know... Are you crying? Oh, right.. You can only cry if some celeb or known person dies huh? Fucking sad.

Exactly. He followed a tradition of granting asylum and protection to those in aid against their enemies, so it would only be right to turn around and grant him asylum and protection against his.

The fact that we haven't already done this is actually quite pitiful given how much this man risked to help someone he didn't even know.

If you're going to give the definition the ATF has than don't bother. A weapon for true assault and only assault would look nothing like an Ar-15

Everything you have said thus far is factually correct.

Assault rifle is a select fire, intermediate caliber rifle.

Assault weapon is a Clinton-era buzzword.

The people thumbing you down and saying otherwise are just wrong
User avatar #65 - amsel (01/11/2015) [-]
Your article disproves your point, ya'know.

Assault rifles are selective fire and can shoot in semi-automatic or automatic. You can't buy automatic rifles in America. You can by "Sporting Rifles" that are in the style of common Assault Rifles, but they aren't Assault Rifles.
User avatar #250 - heartlessrobot (01/11/2015) [-]
I never once said you CAN buy an automatic rifle in america.
User avatar #253 - amsel (01/11/2015) [-]
Uh, yes you did?

You said we should ban assault rifles. We have banned assault rifles. Assault rifles have selective fire (which, as stated above, means the same rifle can be fired in automatic or semi-automatic modes).

What people buy in America are Sporting Rifles. They are just typical semi-automatic rifles with extra features to make them easier to aim and shoot. People use them for hunting and target shooting. When they are used in mass murders, they are usually illegally modified to include hellfire triggers or other automatic mechanisms and extended magazines. Someone with a legal sporting rifle is no more of a threat than someone with a really nice .223 Rem hunting rifle.

Anyways, that's all beside the point - I was just pointing out that when the guy called an m16 a varmint rifle, he's referring to the m16 you would buy in America, which would be a semi-auto 5.56mm NATO rifle, and is commonly considered an overpowered varmint rifle. An assault rifle, by definition, can be put into an automatic fire mode, which is illegal in America on all guns manufactured after some certain date (aka pretty much every rifle that exists).
User avatar #255 - heartlessrobot (01/11/2015) [-]
And nevermind. boothead is the one that said that.
mostlyshits is the guy you're talking about. He said we should ban them.

Woops. Thought you were the OP of the thread when replying to boothead and were trying to say "yes you can buy assault rifles in america, what about an M16" and then posted your definition of "assault rifle" as proof, so was trying to point out that you can't buy a real M16 in America.

I was wrong. Sorry to rant.
User avatar #257 - heartlessrobot (01/11/2015) [-]
You CAN buy one, it just isn't really legal.
But hey, if you know a guy, I'm sure there's a way.
User avatar #258 - amsel (01/11/2015) [-]
There's some limited number of legal ones in circulation from before the ban too but getting your hands on one is crazy expensive and you usually have to do some amount of shady paperwork (I think you have to "inherit" it to really change hands legally).

And I'm sure someone's smuggling them in from somewhere.
User avatar #259 - heartlessrobot (01/11/2015) [-]
Still, I wouldn't blow the money on one.

You're thinking about the wrong person, I myself am very pro gun. All I said was that an M16 IS an assault rifle, and was backing the point that there ARE guns that are categorized as Assault Rifles, since you said there's no such thing, other than the Sturmgewher.
User avatar #104 - thatoneiranianguy (01/11/2015) [-]
You can buy automatic rifles, you just need to pay the money for the gun itself (which is usually very expensive,) fill out the ATF paperwork which takes months, and pay the 200 dollar tax stamp.

Bam, you own a NFA firearm.

I thought the definition for Assault Rifle was a selective fire rifle.
#61 - boothead (01/11/2015) [-]
When you manufacture and live around firearms an m16 is a varmint rifle actually. the 5.56 is a .22 with a pointed tip and bigger casing.
Assault rifle is a 'buzzword' used by people who don't exactly know what it is but that it scares them. If you really care check out hickock45 on youtube or go to a chat forum and ask around there, theyd tell you more in depth detail than I care to at 2am

Okay you raise fair points about sick people and whatnot, but you can gain a sense of balence - That's basically what capoeira is all about, shifting you center of gravity.
And while most "Old people" might not be strong an old man by the name of Morihei Ueshiba created Aikido once he realised he couldn't punch people with the force he used to use, so then he made something where you use your opponents momentum/force against them - so old people could use that (Unless they're 90 in which case, shouldn't they be in a home or something?)
While on the younger side, people my age (early 20's) since we have more energy than older people surely we could generate what older people can't, so the arts should serve them fine.

Now onto firearms - I have a handful of friends that enjoy hunting and have guns and whatnot - the one friend's opinion I'll focus on did Legal Studies with me.
Okay so the "triggering event" for guns to be near-on removed was the Port Arthur massacre and we both agreed 'That kind of thing sucks, but it "makes sense" that they did it.' However we did research and essays on the 're-legalisation' of semi-auto and full-auto's and we did agree that bringing in semi-auto's was fine - He said just make them a different class of firearms along with full auto's while I said 'make them the hardest to get' but all other types of firearms have seemingly been getting easier to get (You still need reasons for them like 'Pest control' or 'Target shooting' not just "but I want it!" which is better because psycho cunts have to be determined)

In terms of conceal carry - it doesn't sit with me my friend thinks it's okay in certain situations I don't remember them for the life of me but even he thinks sometimes it isn't the greatest way to prevent crimes.

In all seriousness I LIKE debates like this - because it's an insight into a perspective that I don't come across often.
So if you wanna talk guns with me I'm all for it

The elderly, people who are under 6foot, sick people, anybody who doesn't have a sense of balance etc.

The reason Australia doesnt have guns is because their government is afraid to lose its money and power, the only threat its government had was an armed populace, so who enforces its government now? Its own government? What can they do when they gifure out their votes are rigged? Cry?
