boothead (01/05/2016) [-] www.mintpressnews.com/the-facts-that-neither-side-wants-to-admit-about-gun-control/207152/ You get bonus points for a being complete retard. Mostly your comments just get bonus points since that's all you do. In the list of states/districts by highest gun murder rate per 100K residents: California is number 14 Illinois is number 24 New York is 27 It’s also worth noting that the state/district with the highest gun related homicide per capita in the US is also the district with the most gun control. D.C. The state with the least gun control in US also has the least gun related homicides per capita. Vermont Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States_by_state Oh and just to wrap this all up with a nice little ribbon on top and call it done: There Is No Correlation Between Gun Control/ownership And Homicide Rates mises.org/blog/theres-no-correlation-between-gun-ownership-mass-shootings-and-murder-rates www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-11-01/homicide-rates-cut-half-over-past-20-years-while-new-gun-ownership-soared cerebralzero.tumblr.com/post/111327232097/gun-control-doesnt-work Keep circle jerking that false notion, enjoy your deadlier knife fights and getting gangbanged by horny immigrants. oh you mean in places like britain and germany that are now being swarmed with immigrants that are gangraping all the white people? Britten: It's a spike, those happen, it's called statistics. The timing of the ban could easily be a fluke, correlation does not prove causation. Either way, it decreased after that, and is now lower than before. Jamaica and Ireland: These both have a relatively flat curve turning before the gun ban. Again with the spikes. Australia: What I see is a curve that keeps dropping. How is that an argument for anything other than success? Sure, they had a bad year, followed by a good year soon after. Again, statistics and spikes. I have to agree, with only these statistics, you could argue that in the relative short term, gun crime seems to rise, but after a few years (other than Jamaica and Ireland, which were both in an upswing that clearly have nothing to do with the ban), crime drops. I don't really see how this is an argument against it. I wasn't making an argument, I was asking you to back up your statement. If you can't do that, I'm gonna assume you pulled it out of your ass, and ignore it completely. you've made an unsupported claim and are now refusing to back it up, that's like sticking your fingers in your ears going "lalalalalalala" Ah ok, so you're just not going to explain yourself because it's too hard. Good job You made a claim, not an argument. I asked you to prove your claim That's not deflecting, dumbass. I'm asking you to prove what you said, if you can't do that, how the fuck do I know you weren't just lying, or passing along hear-say? No. It doesn't work that way anywhere, literally Other than genderstudies. Again, I'm being literal. . When you make a claim, you show where you got your data, period. I shouldn't know every statistics that have ever been made on the matter in order to discuss it. If you make a claim you can't back up, I'm free to dismiss it until you do. Either show me where you got your data, or shut up. And seeing as you are still unable to show me any proof of this, I'm gonna assume you read it on some 4chan thread where a group of gunnuts were circlejerking false information, and you decided to spread it without researching it first. And so, I'm gonna ignore it, seeing as it's probably not true. #72 -
anon (01/04/2016) [-] Facts, with precious references at the bottom. www.gunfacts.info/gun-control-myths/guns-in-other-countries/ I was gonna write a really long comment, but I'll TL;DR it right off the bat for you It's American culture to be violent as shit at any given opportunity, to protect yourself from that, you need Guns. The rest of the (Civilized) World doesn't have that, and hence doesn't need Guns. It's that simple. #80 -
anon (01/04/2016) [-] yeah ill just say right off the bat you have no idea what you're talking about and sound like you're talking out of your ass with Americans being "violent as shit" that's a pretty damn big generalization you're making there. any stereotype is a pretty big generalization anon, but the thing with stereotypes is, that they are mostly based on facts. Americans of all westerners , are by far the most violent, that's because how they were raised, what their environment is like etc. You can't expect a people whose media glorifies violence, to be as peaceful as that of a people who literally censor everything remotely related to violence. This works with about any aspect of culture. Not all cultures are created equal Anon, you should remember that. #95 -
anon (01/04/2016) [-] Oh yeah were the most violent. Take a look at the middle east and tell me we are the most violent because you are clearly talking out your ass when it comes to the US. I live here what the fuck do you know about this country? Looks like the high amounts of sodium in your blood-stream prevent you from properly reading. I never said Americans are the most violent people in the fucking world, only in the west. I know enough about your country to have an educated opinion about it. I've been exposed to "muh freedoms" for over a decade now, I'd say I know a fair amount about you lot. for them , not for us. If they weren't, Europeans would no longer have a reason to laugh at them , now THAT would be sad. | ||

The elderly, people who are under 6foot, sick people, anybody who doesn't have a sense of balance etc.
The reason Australia doesnt have guns is because their government is afraid to lose its money and power, the only threat its government had was an armed populace, so who enforces its government now? Its own government? What can they do when they gifure out their votes are rigged? Cry?

I recalled my friends situation where he doesn't like it - paranoid people I get jump if people wearing a "Tapout" shirt have been following me more than a block
Okay you raise fair points about sick people and whatnot, but you can gain a sense of balence - That's basically what capoeira is all about, shifting you center of gravity.
And while most "Old people" might not be strong an old man by the name of Morihei Ueshiba created Aikido once he realised he couldn't punch people with the force he used to use, so then he made something where you use your opponents momentum/force against them - so old people could use that (Unless they're 90 in which case, shouldn't they be in a home or something?)
While on the younger side, people my age (early 20's) since we have more energy than older people surely we could generate what older people can't, so the arts should serve them fine.
Now onto firearms - I have a handful of friends that enjoy hunting and have guns and whatnot - the one friend's opinion I'll focus on did Legal Studies with me.
Okay so the "triggering event" for guns to be near-on removed was the Port Arthur massacre and we both agreed 'That kind of thing sucks, but it "makes sense" that they did it.' However we did research and essays on the 're-legalisation' of semi-auto and full-auto's and we did agree that bringing in semi-auto's was fine - He said just make them a different class of firearms along with full auto's while I said 'make them the hardest to get' but all other types of firearms have seemingly been getting easier to get (You still need reasons for them like 'Pest control' or 'Target shooting' not just "but I want it!" which is better because psycho cunts have to be determined)
In terms of conceal carry - it doesn't sit with me my friend thinks it's okay in certain situations I don't remember them for the life of me but even he thinks sometimes it isn't the greatest way to prevent crimes.
In all seriousness I LIKE debates like this - because it's an insight into a perspective that I don't come across often.
So if you wanna talk guns with me I'm all for it
