I enjoy videogames too but if you like playing them why don't you just buy a console? The graphics are usually much better, you don't have to worry about installation and such and you can use the consoles for many more things than just playing your crappy old Dead Island.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to come off as jerkish, but if you're telling him to buy a Mac AND a Gaming console, you're insane. I don't know which Mac computer you have, so I'll be doing this based off the cheapest iMac on Apple's site.

It currently costs $1199, thats with some pretty decent specs and what not and all that fancy Apple Software it comes with. Then you suggest getting a console, I'll be using PS3 as you said you have that in another comment. Current pricing for just the PS3 (160GB) $249. So, in total, he would have to spend $1448 for the Mac and PS3.

A better plan would be just to buy a PC, with the same specs as the iMac (as they're nothing to sneeze at) for a cheaper price. Also, PC's tend to have better graphics that consoles, mind you thats just my experience.

Again, not bashing Macs, as they do many things right, and may be simpler, but thats not the point here. My point is that suggesting to get a Mac then saying to buying a console for gaming isn't the most efficient plan.

I have a Macbook Pro that has 500gb and a "13 screen. It cost me 1099€ which is a little more than $1200. I have also bought a PS3 slim that cost me like 300€ or so. We have a high income and thus do't need to worry about that too much. It is of course more affordable and easier to have them combined. Sorry if that didn't make any sense. I'm pretty stoned right now.

firstly pc graphics (provided you have a semi-decent video card) easily beat out ps3/360 , the online services (steam and the like) are massively better and there is a significantly larger roster of games largely because of indie studios that don't/can't go into consoles and the MMORPGs there is of course modding as well as the fact you can use a mouse and keyboard on a pc.

don't get me wrong i'm not hating on consoles i do in fact have a ps3 which i use mostly for playing co-op stuff with friends
