But animals have no kinds of comparible currency, we need to use our own manufactured stuff to survive. If you put a regular, randomly picked human, a randomly picked fox, and a randomly picked say bird of some sort, and put them all in random environments, with nothing but themselves, I could almost guarantee the human would be the first to bite the dust

Before we reached a certain point in our progress as a species, tigers were the apex predators of the world. And look where it got them. Nearly extinct and basically at the mercy of humans. Meanwhile, humanity is over 7 billion strong and growing.

We live on every continent, in every environment. So, while the tiger has pure strength at his disposal, we have our intelligence. Brains over brawn.

To be fair, even though the Siberian tiger is my favorite animal, polar bears and brown bears are quite a lot bigger, and would win in fights against any tiger.
