it seems ok. i can't say i like them enough to go download a ps1 emulator and play them. yeah, i went to the northeast and they were like talk to stones or some shit. so i go to talk to all the stones and nothing useful happened.
it says i have a map but i sure as hell can't see it. oh well.

Did you try leaving the ruined area by the water? I think that triggers the lair of the white dragon to open. Also, manu.
User avatar #834725 - hirollin (02/13/2014) [-]
yeah i figured out how to do manual combat in the second battle
gotta say though after iv wandered aimlessly and grinded for a little bit that auto really comes in handy.

Also, if I remember correctly, Nash is pretty decent in the front row during the beginning.
I haven't played the games in a while so I'm not sure if you're referring to the vain wizard or the singing chick.

How dare you mention that book. I'm not mad about Chewie dying, he at least did that well, but that book wasn't all that good. What pissed me off is that you had so many awesome writers that already write Star Wars books, like Zahn or Stackpole (who made two awesome sequels to Vector Prime), those guys should've been the ones to start that series.
User avatar #592 - bobbybeats (02/13/2014) [-]
Im not that far in the series, ive read the first 5 in publishing order. Also kyp is a badass
User avatar #593 - KayRed (02/13/2014) [-]
You do know that Vector Prime is the first book, right?
User avatar #594 - bobbybeats (02/13/2014) [-]
Yeah. I'm sure it was the first published but if it wasn't, then what I said about publishing order is only a little wrong.
User avatar #598 - KayRed (02/13/2014) [-]
Right here dude. It's a list of every book in that series chronologically (by narrative I mean), Vector Prime is number 1.

starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_New_Jedi_Order
User avatar #600 - bobbybeats (02/13/2014) [-]
I guess I was completely wrong about the publishing order. After I read the dangerous women anthology I'm gonna have to check my library and eBay.
I read the onslaught, and edge of victory books along with vector prime.
I was able to follow what was going on but that explains why things kind of drastically change.
User avatar #602 - KayRed (02/13/2014) [-]
It looks like you missed a lot of fucking books dude. Not that you need to read them all. I read those books when I was younger and cared less about a continuous narrative, they were perfectly fine. Maybe I'll go back and read them all (after I'm done with WoT).
User avatar #648 - bobbybeats (02/14/2014) [-]
I dug the later ones I read out and checked out the timeline and apparently I did miss quite a few, but I bought the 5 I had for my last birthday off of eBay so I couldn't really be picky about what I got(plus I found that eu material is a hit and miss) and it's really more of a way to kill time until I the new asoif and Star Wars movie comes out.
User avatar #672 - KayRed (02/14/2014) [-]
If you really wanna kill some time, and I mean a lot of fucking time, The Wheel of Time series is great, but it is laborious.
User avatar #597 - KayRed (02/13/2014) [-]
The only thing before that is a novella about the Mandolorians, it's the very first book. I mean, it's the book where the invasion starts.
User avatar #517 - neptuneport (02/13/2014) [-]
I actually have not gotten a chance to read vector prime. Unfortunately, I already know the major twist in it.
User avatar #518 - bobbybeats (02/13/2014) [-]
To be fair,it's the only ra Salvatore book I've read and it's one of the better ones in the series.

That Cheerios and beer was almost regrettable because it was some thin ass beer. The texture was all wrong but peanut butter and honey nut Cheerios doesn't sound too bad though. Alas, I'm not a stoner with a high metabolism any more

Even if you did like zombies, you would be dissapointed. They maybe have like at most 5 pages of book time. The cool thing about the wights though is that they seem to be controlled by ice magic by magical ice elves( I swear, it's way cooler than it sounds)

I hated the homoeroticism. Ever since 7 they have been throwing that into every game. I hate that artstyle where every man is a femboy and every girl looks exactly like the guys. Every character is just the epitome of generic anime characters and there is absolutely nothing original about them. The last character I can think of that had even the slightest bit of originality was Sazh.

Unless I am mistaking SaGa for another term I don't believe I have played them.

The final fantasy 12 world was big, but when you got down to it it was all pretty much the same. Most of it was caves, the enemies were just different colored and different statted variations of enemies you see in the beginning, and overall I hated that they introduced these animal characters that look like the came out of Donkey Kong. In the first town all I could think of is "Why the fuck are these kremlings here?"

I think the Last Remnant was a corrected version of 12. There is just so many similarities between the games. I didn't care for Remnants battle system, but that's not because it was a bad system. It was good for some people, but I wasn't one of them.

I enjoyed Final Fantasy 2. Although, if you don't have like a weekend to kill playing it then you need a walkthrough. I hate using walkthroughs in games. It makes it seem like you failed before you even started. Which is maybe why I appreciated 13 more than most people. I really could have cared less that it was linear. I didn't see that as a problem. The battle system was fine if you actually gave it a chance and beat the tutorial level. Don't remember if you liked 13 or not, but whatever.

There were better open world rpg's for the ps2 at that time. Hell, wasn't 12 like right at the end of the ps2's career? They had all that history to use and learn from and yet it still was bad. Not to mention their budget was huge.
