Dude, I agree with you over Jon, but he's really the only one I want on the throne other than Stanni. Living Character wise. I hate Dany so much now that Khal Drogo and Rhago are dead.
Alright brother, top 5 characters and why:
1) Bron. His attitude and fuck all atmosphere makes me love him, and I honestly think he has the IQ of Tyrion. In all honesty, I imagine him being a combination of Tyrions wits, Jaime's skills, and Cersei's attitude.
2) Robb. I fucking loved him dude. You have no idea. For someone as young as him (16 in the books I think) he was a genius. Had he not been killed I seriously think he would've became a Northern Tywin in regards to tactical thinking and love from others.
3) Jaime- I hated this fucker at first, but during Storm I really started to love him, and in Feast when he rejects Cersei? Holy ballllllssss that was awesome. I also love how he cares for Tyrion despite everything.
4) Bran- One of the most interesting characters by far. I see him somehow coming into play with the plots going on around the neck towards Howland Reed's turf. I doubt he'd send Meera and Jojen to get Bran if he didn't have some sort of plan, the dude is too clever and experienced to go into battle without a plan.
5) Howland Reed, of course. Even though he's not had any spotlight time, he's still fucking awesome. A little dude taking on the king's guard? Fucking bad-a dude.

I also liked TV version of the hound more than the books. I dunno, I think they did a better job at getting his fuck all attitude that's so common with the Lannisters.

Alright, I'm gonna give my top 5.
Bran- Even though he's still young, he's got the potential of being one of the most powerful and influencing characters.
Melisandre- She's misunderstood. At first I hated the red witch, but when she convinced Stannis to spare davos' life I started seeing her for what she is. A person who cares the realms of men and tries to warn jon of the daggers in the dark is okay in my book. I'll admit that she seems to interpret her fires wrong, but she's got a good heart for someone who is cruel.
Blackfish- his parley with Jaime were some of the better pages in feast. He was also Robb's hand in every way except for name.
Roose bolton- I don't agree with his choices but I think he's one of the better villains in the series. Villian wise for me as of now is Roose> Ramsey> Joffrey. I know I said earlier that Ramsey is one of my favorite villains in literature, but where would he be without the leech lord of the dreadfort?
Bloodraven / Brynden rivers / three eyed crow- in the mystery knight, it's widely believed that ser Maynard plumm is really bloodraven in glamor. At the end of the story, dunk and egg thwart the plans for another blackfyre rebellion and bloodraven comes to talk to the traitors. Dunk and egg then leave and a few moments later bloodraven comes out with a piece of paper in his hands crossing out a name. The traitor that was a blackfyre was never heard of again.
So e people on the internet would actually have you believe that bloodraven and his sister are the parents of melisandre. Oh, the incest isn't wierd though, they're only half siblings and they're targ bastards.
As you might be able to tell, I saved my best for last.
I think shit mouth, strong belwas and thoros of myr deserve honorable mentions.

God dude, Jon became such a badass in Storm and Dance. In Game and Clash he's such a bitch about everything, but once Mormont died, he became a dude worthy to lead. His last few chapters really bothered me since they build up to a whole "YEAH JON IS GOING TO RECLAIM THE NORTH" to "Wow he got shanked."
I understand why he did it, but it still makes me pretty angry. I want Jon to end up on the throne somehow, him or Gendry. Assuming Jon is really Rhaegar's bastard and not Ned's, I see Jon getting it since Jon can represent the Ice in "A song of Ice and Fire" and Danny representing the fire.

What do you think about Petyr and Sansa? I think she may end up being the Ice as well, assuming Petyr stays true to his word and rallies the Knights of The Vale.
User avatar #957 - bobbybeats (02/17/2014) [-]
I honestly don't see jon giving two shits about the iron throne.
He was self entitled in game of thrones, but the armorer set him straight.
I didn't really give two shits about him until he killed a wight and got one of the most badass swords in the series.
I don't think he planned on reclaiming the north after he got that letter. He was in a way protecting the realms of men (stannis' wife, child, men and the nights watch) from a monster known as Ramsey, whom by the way has to be one of my favorite villains in literature and tv.
I also couldn't give two shits about him being a son of rhaegar. I really don't like the idea myself, but the evidence is pretty damn overwhelming, and the way the author gives the supposed clues is really damn genius. I think we're going to find out who his mother is, but for some reason I would really love it if jon never found out.
Sansa and little finger is one of the more interesting things going on in the story.
I became a Sansa lover around the time she finds out jofferys true nature, so it was pretty easy for me to feel bad for her.
Now concerning littlefinger, If I remember correctly, he's paramount ruler of pretty much a third of westeros, and that's pretty damn impressive for someone of low birth in this story. I bet he plans on getting Sansa winterfell, mainly because he gave roose the fake arya and I'm pretty sure he's one of the few that know that she isn't arya. I wouldn't be surprised if roose knew, but Ramsey is a different story.
It seems like littlefinger is playing the game on luck, and he's been on a winning streak for quote a while. The real problem I see for his plans is that Miranda Royce finding out who Sansa is. I wouldn't be surprised if Alayne stones true identity is the worst kept secret in the vale, but if ithe vale believes petyr, Miranda Royce might mean big trouble for little finger. I don't know how, but it seems like the pieces are laying around for his downfall. I've been reading feast cuz of the vale.

At the start of the war, Robb without a doubt. I don't know why, but when The Greatjon declares for him I REALLY wanted to be there. His steps in the war had a lot more of drama and impact compared to Baelon, Joffery, Stannis, and Renly.

Had the treaty worked out between Renly and Robb, I have no doubt that they would've taken Kjngs Landing and destroyed everybody else with the exception of maybe Danny. Even though Renly didn't want to rule over a divided Kingdom, I'm sure that Robb and him could've worked something out since they were both very down to earth and like-minded.

But since they're both dead, I would raise my banners for Stannis without hesitation. To me, what Roose and Tywin did was inexcusable, and I feel Stannis will win against them in the end. He's too calm and calculated like Tywin to lose to someone like Roose who is more of a rat than a wolf.
But I'm sure Jon will have something to do with Stannis' victory. I'm nearly positive he was named Robb's heir, and once he comes back (we all know it's going to happen) Robb's Bannerman will strike up with him and they'll retake the North from Roose and Ramsay.

I see Danny not really coming to Westeros until maybe the end of TWOW or the start of ADOS. And one she gets there, I think Westeros will divide between her ruling in the South and Jon or Stannis ruling in the North (probably Jon since Stannis is hellbent on the whole Iron Throne.)
I also think that Tyrion will become Hand again.
User avatar #950 - bobbybeats (02/17/2014) [-]
On roose, I don't think he will be that easy to kill, mainly because I think he's the asoiaf's version of a vampire, and The historical Count Dracula in one package.
Also on arya and her training. She wore a skiin of an ugly girl in bravos, and isn't it said the boltons have some stark skins in a secret room? I'm not a hundred percent that roose has some old stark skins, but I wouldn't doubt for a minute that he has a secret room with the skins of his enemies to show his close friends, even if he doesn't believe in the concept of friends.
User avatar #949 - bobbybeats (02/17/2014) [-]
I can't blame you for declaring for Robb.
There was a kind of magic In him being somewhat elected to be king of the north.
Him and jon have a lot in common in there ways they got into leadership.
Jon was elected to be LC, and I guess in a way Robb was elected to be king in the north.
I'll admit Stannis wasn't doing to much in the beginning in book two, but when he starts doing stuff, he gets them done with very little bloodshed (minus the black water).
It's been a little while since I read storm of swords, but I'm pretty sure it's made very explicit that Robb named jon his heir.
I'm pretty sure howland got the will, and we know the crannogmen haven't been sitting around with their thumbs up their asses.
How did you feel about Jon's last few chapters in dance?
I'm pretty sure there was some kind of skin changing magic happening to the conspirators, and maybe jon himself. I also found it wierd that the trees on the way to moles town had faces carved in them. I think bran somehow did it and it's somehow making his magic stronger between the trees and brynden's lair. I also think melisandres chapter makes it clear that we will have a ressurection and aemon told jon "let the boy die, and the man be born" right before he left the wall.
I've only seen like two episodes of the show, and one of them is where Mel is talking to the thoros and beric about The Lord of lights will.
I honestly thought beric was azor azhaii reborn when he lit his sword on fire with his blood.
I haven't payed too much attention to dany in dance because she was boring the hell out of me, but I think everyone has a few povs they barely read over on their first read. I've only read dance once and I plan on reading it again once I beat this video game that's been such a time waster.
Here's to hoping we get winds of winter next year.

not needed, but its a good amount pay to win. This game came 3 days ago, but its very similar to its predecessor, Guardian Cross. There are two different hunting courses normal and special. Normal you very rarely get above 3*, but special is 3* and above, although 5s are still rare. In GC, it would give you a weekly special hunting ticket. So far, the newer game seems like it might be ever so slightly more generous, but its pretty similar.

You should shop around

Most likely you might find a wood specifically made for bows
User avatar #1414 - bobbybeats (02/16/2014) [-]
Thanks, I'll take it into consideration. I'm quite comfortable cutting down an ash because my dad does deep root treatments for his small patch of woods on his land, and ash is one of the few types around it.
I'm just curious about hazel because I've never used a bow made out of one and I hear it's very good. Thanks for your opinion.
