Hey there. I'm just your regular guy, playing games and using any spell used against me. I run a Youtube channel at Youtube.com/BlueMagicReviews but I have stopped uploading to it due to technical difficulties. Need a better video editor, you know? Anyways! Thanks for stopping by, but I'm confused why you're here. I don't even post content on this site.

bluemagebrilly (01/13/2016) [-] Chara and Asriel are in the same situation, in my opinion. Chara is just stronger and more determined. Besides, everyone deserves a true second chance. #19 -
sasorioftheredsand (01/13/2016) [-] The point of Chara's character is they represent the mentality of an average gamer, which, in the context of a real world, is pretty damn evil, and Chara knows it. Chara can't be saved, because they don't want to be, they can't, that's just how they are, some people are just genuinely bad. #20 -
bluemagebrilly (23 hours ago) [-] Slightly incorrect on the first half. Chara does not actually have their full soul, just like Asriel. Asriel, also, remembered what it was like to have those feelings. He just lost his kindness because he couldn't really feel it anymore and got bored with everyone after resetting so much. Chara was not malicious from the start, you can see that with the way they treat each other. They wouldn't be loving siblings if Chara was just evil. Chara also became part of Asriel, but do you really think it was simply because of their hatred that they killed themselves and gave Asriel their soul? If they wanted to just get through the barrier, they could have killed any of the family members. They were all boss monsters and thus a human could absorb their soul. But they didn't, because they hated themselves more than they hated their new family. I think it was just a selfless plan to give the monsters freedom. But then it went wrong when monsters started to attack Asriel, making Chara's hatred for humans come full front and she tried to destroy them all for hurting her brother, but Asriel was too kind for that. So they didn't. It's also said Chara "laughed it off" when it came to poisoning Asgore, not that they laughed out of malice. A lot of children just laugh uncomfortable things away to hide themselves from it. Considering Chara being able to kill themselves so easily... Well, I don't doubt they had plenty of emotions to hide. Lastly, for the story sake, there's no indication that Chara has a soul, or at least a complete one. For one, Asriel would still have a little bit of it inside him. That's probably where his violence comes from, admittedly, since Chara's last thoughts with their soul was very violent. For Frisk, if Chara had a soul... Why would they need yours? More importantly, why would Chara not have just possessed her own body? It's implied it's buried under the golden flowers Frisk falls in. It probably got decayed which could be a reason, but... There's just too many holes, I think, of the idea Chara being completely aware of what she's doing. Now on the gamer side, yes, Chara is supposed to represent the mentality of the gamer, but the character itself is more than that. They're not just "the player." The player could, and probably is, be considered a "third" voice. The one that guides and manipulates Chara/Frisk outside their understanding. Because even if you have a handful of things outside of your control, the overall idea is your fault. Chara, in the character sense, would not stop at one kill. You, however, can make them stop. There's no way to represent that. It's the player that's genuinely bad, but Chara has a chance for redemption. To get the soul, or at least the fragments, that they're missing so they can feel again and be shown something beyond violence or self sacrifice. No one is truly evil. There are those that can't be saved, but I don't think Chara is one of those. #23 -
sasorioftheredsand (28 minutes ago) [-] Chara doesn't have their soul correct, they have ours, we give it to them, and they very clearly absorb it, as they talk about it how it feels inside them, our soul fully enables them to once again feel compassion, and well, they're exactly the same as they were without it. Shocker. But you're making Chara out to be a somewhat kind person, when they weren't. You are effectively Chara during the Genocide route - and almost every enemy notices your horns. Sans makes note of how you don't emote, Papyrus thinks your creepy, Doggo (who doesn't even know you're there) begins shivering in fear, etc - Now, you're clearly talking about past Chara, but I think you're overestimating the amount of exposure Chara had with the populous. They're never mentioned interacting with any monsters outside of the Dreemurr family. And the Dreemur family would have obviously treated such wicked child with kindness anyway because they're just stupidly nice. There was no one to say Chara was evil, even if they were I think you're underestimating Chara's intelligence, they are clearly extremely intelligent, despite their age. What with the vocabulary they use, coming up with the plan in general. Every VHS revealed to us a tidbit of information, but a lot of people did not pick up the sketchy things regarding Chara. If the game wanted us to think Chara was some misunderstood problem child, it wouldn't have implied they tried to keep up appearances (what with the creepy face, it's obvious they put on a front for others) Plus Asriel straight up tells us this, saying they "weren't the greatest person." And of course, one would think the laughing was Chara's way of dealing with grief, and this is also what Asriel thinks as a child, but years later, he says "maybe I was projecting a bit." See what that means? It means Asriel acknowledges, years later, he was putting Chara in a brighter light than how they really were. He himself knows now that Chara was not some selfless hero, he knows Chara was laughing in pleasure. The other thing Asriel later figures out. If he fought those humans the war would have restarted. With Chara's intelligence, they obviously knew that. The way you described Chara's plan is exactly what the game wanted you to think. Even Asriel himself realizes later that, in truth, Chara's plan was to restart the war.

| I realized I typed that wrong when I did it then went "Nobody will give a shit about it" and left it, I guess I was wrong. What I meant to say is that No weapons are op and if they do better than something else it has an easy to access counter. #24 -
bluemagebrilly (01/13/2016) [-] ... That's not really different from what you said before. Weapons are op. There are op weapons in that game. Yes, some of them have counters, but a couple of them just don't anymore. Phlog, or however you spell that, just got buffed recently too and is now extremely overpowered for what it does. Yeah, it has no air blasts. So what? You can go practically invulnerable now, with no way to be pushed back, for a few seconds and then get amazing crits. The only ones who can get away from you are soldiers, demos, and scouts. Anyone else dies, and if any of those guys stayed around during your charge up... They die. Considering how many maps are control points or payload, it makes it so the Pyro with full charge becomes a wall for the enemy team. A wall that kills them if they don't get away from it. Yeah, you can bounce the pyro back after the charge is over, but if you time it wrong... It's death. It's things like that, along with there being so many items to begin with, that made me stop playing TF2. That and the lack of real updates. Really need to make a TF3 already. In my experience of the game it's really easy to fight everything. You can't have a single play style going in, like in the phlog case all you have to do is kite them, and depending on class shoot at their feet to slow them down.

The artist is clever and has introduced other characters into the mix, playing off of other tropes, but he needs to keep doing that and putting fresh settings and stories together otherwise it will get stale. The best part of the series is how it parodies common tropes. The Elf is the one really up for sex and the big strong orc just doesn't give a shit.
