I do think there was voice acting in Shadow Dragon, if only a bit, but... Like I said, they're only keeping the Jap actors for Marth and Roy because they were always like that since Melee when they didn't have any other choice. It's just kind of a nod towards it, I think, and because people all over the world are kind of used to it.

The rest all had voice actors to begin with because their games came out after that. It's Melee's Marth and Roy that sparked the popularity of Fire Emblem in other lands. But I have to agree on Ike speaking Jap not really fitting.

Marth and Roy originally had Japanese only voice actors. Their games had only came out in Japan, or in Roy's case were only being made for Japan. It wasn't until Melee that they got a little famous and with no English voice actors for them, due to Fire Emblem being almost nonexistent in the west I think, they kept their Japanese ones.

The reason they keep their Japanese voices in Brawl and S4 is merely because they always have been like that and people seem to prefer it. I personally prefer them that way too. On the flip side, Ike, Robin (+Crom) , Lucina, and possibly Corrin are all voiced by many people so there was never any need for them to have Japanese voices.

But with Cloud... I dunno. It was a game I grew up with thinking of him speaking English, unlike the Fire Emblem characters who I was introduced to with them speaking Japanese. Not only that, but he has an English voice actor already along with other languages due to Advent Children and, now that I think about it, Crisis Core for the PsP which has him appear. I don't recall if he actually speaks more than once, but he does appear there at least and gets Zack's sword.

So I don't get it!

I never finished the show, did Ranma and Akane ever do the thing?

The anime ends before major things happen that indicate such. The last episode merely is the end of Ranma being "discovered" by his mother and Akane/Ranma only say "See you!" while on their way to school as the last bit of the anime. It's a shame it won't get a remake as far as we're aware.

The manga leaves it up to interpretation if they care about each other. Ranma "confesses" over Akane's body while she's unconscious, but they've done that multiple times, but Akane herself was willing to go through a wedding because of that confession she overheard. The wedding is a complete failure, however, as every one of Ranma's rivals show up and destroy the dojo, but the last picture is Akane / Ranma looking at each other then running off to school, neither seeming that angry. It was never made clear which girl Ranma ends up with.

If you want my personal take on if they get together then: Absolutely not. Akane is too angry and too eager to punch Ranma for them to have a good relationship, and Ranma's only attachment to Akane is the engagement and her 'cute smile' which isn't really enough in the long term. Not only that, but Akane makes it obvious that she doesn't like girls romantically, which means Ranma would be given the cold shoulder 50% of the time. 70% if you consider their usual interactions.

None of the girls really suit Ranma for the most part, none of the engaged ones at least. Shampoo would just make him a breeding stock, Ukyo would turn him into a waitress, and Kodachi (if you even count her) would kill Ranma the second he became a she.

Ranma is still a great comedy and action anime that I highly recommend. The romance is definitely the downside of it but overall I'd give it a solid 8/10 for everything else. Romance is a 2/10.

Eh, in a way. It's mostly because of the old style of "violent tsundere" being overdone in it. Something a lot of the older anime shows are guilty of.

The romance itself can still be taken pretty well, it just doesn't end well... Which is usually a factor when it comes to harem-types.

The major point at the beginning of the anime/manga is the awkwardness between the two now engaged teens. Neither are good at dealing with people, more so Ranma, and suddenly they're engaged. It's up until the third major girl is introduced that everything starts going down hill romance wise. Comedy and action goes up around that time, though.

There's also plenty of stories to read that amplify and redo the romance into something much better. But most of them assume you've finished the story, so not really something to jump into without reading it.

Kind of, yeah. It depended on the situation for the most part and got kind of "balanced" personality wise at the mid point or so in that show. Once Ranma turning into a girl kind of became common knowledge in the area, 'her' personality kind of shifted to being the same as her male side... for the most part.

But Ranma's female side did get less into fights and more into manipulating people, like Ryoga. That was pretty interesting from the usual 'attack' idea the boy used.

The voice was great, though. I think it was the same person who did Genkai from Yu Yu Hakosho... Well, the Japanese version, at least. Not sure 'bout the English one.

Oh god, the pressure is too much! I've really run dry on facts, I'm currently sorting out pictures and stuff for a few One Piece SBS comps, I guess I'll have to search for more facts for when I'm done.. that's if I can find any.
