Again, look at what I said. The game, overall, is trying to be at least somewhat realistic to life, however, there are certain elements in real life that don't translate into fair gameplay. If you really want to get nit-picky, how come snipers don't have to compensate for wind, how can you steal another jet mid-air, how come light poles are completely indestructible, etc... BF3 is the most realistic game of its time, however, when you translate life to a game, some realism is lost.

I'm sorry, but now you're just making my case for me about how the game is completely unrealistic.
If you want to talk about the most realistic game of it's time, look at ARMA, one simple realism mod and snipers DO require windage, nothing is indestructible, you cannot typically defy laws of reality, at least not in ARMA 2 currently, ARMA 3 is going through beta and as such is broke as hell.
So tell me again about how lens flare being forced onto players assists in 'fair gameplay', how is blinding everyone with unnecessary and ridiculous looking rendering effects either realistic OR enjoyable?
