We have no shortage of food in the world as it is. We just have poor distribution.

So? We're still no where near over populated. We can easily fit every human being on earth in Asia alone.
User avatar #106 - travishein (01/30/2015) [-]
Technically speaking, you can "fit" the entire population of the planet inside of Texas...and if I'm not mistaken, every person would have a 1000 square foot space to themselves. And, New York has a population density of roughly one person per 1000 square feet. So it would look like a big New York City...pretty cool huh?

I don't disagree with you, but space is not going to be the limiting factor on human population.
User avatar #91 - anonymoose (01/30/2015) [-]
And making people need a licence to breed isn't going to stop rapid population growth.

#72 - and overpopulation can ruin an entire planet. Check and mate  [+] (18 new replies) 01/30/2015 on How are these things legal? +1

It's very simple to overfish, it's extremely difficult to overpopulate.
#123 - godofhorizons (01/30/2015) [-]
And yet we are well on our way.

It is estimated that the population of the world reached one billion for the first time in 1804. It would be another 123 years before it reached two billion in 1927, but it took only 33 years to rise by another billion people, reaching three billion in 1960. Thereafter, the global population reached four billion in 1974, five billion in 1987, six billion in 1999 and, by some estimates, seven billion in October 2011 with other estimates being in March 2012.[3] It is projected to reach eight billion by 2024–2030.
User avatar #124 - anonymoose (01/30/2015) [-]
And you think making it so you have to have a licences to have sex will in any way slow that down?
#125 - godofhorizons (01/30/2015) [-]
Not significantly. But that wasn't the point I was trying to make. I was just saying the we, as humans, are already overpopulated and it's not a very hard thing to do
User avatar #129 - anonymoose (01/30/2015) [-]
Compared to overfishing, it is.
