Anyway let me tell you what I meant by "truths":
In the UK you have things called GCSE, you have standards such as Science, Maths, English. But you also get to choose about 4 options.
I did Geography, History, German, and Resistant Materials (Tech).
In my history lessons we did about the depression, and hitlers rise to power, and the holocaust, with a brief segue into russia in the 1890s/1900s because one of my two teachers thought it would give us some context (We watched fiddler on the roof also).
Anyway back to the point at hand. The teacher that took us for Hitler's rise to power (she was the main teacher so she did the bulk of the lessons) the lesson plan and subject matter got the main facts across. We were taught about how hitler hated everything. We were told he was angry at the jews for poo pooing his artistry.
He was just a hate filled man.
Then we graduated onto the treatment of jews and it was just 6 months of sitting there for 2 hours hearing "Terrible treatment" this and "looked down upon" that and "Hatred without source", also "How would you feel"
This was supposed to be a history lesson, not a feelings trip.

Alongside all the stuff about how hitler was just a being of pure hatred, we were told about how whilst hitler was messing about in vienna, the russians had had a revolution and this communism eventually scared hitler enough for him to add it to his list of hatreds.

So after a week of lectures, not lessons, lectures about hitler's hatred and made to feel sorry for the jews, and then finally this tidbit about communism, I decided I'd actually research this shit, because what I knew from watching documentaries growing up I'd learned that hitler saw communism as an idealistic threat,as well as a threat to everyday people, not hating it and being scared just because.
Turned out I was right. I'd researched it and found out that a jewish majority bolshevik revolution had been attempted in germany, and killed thousands. This is why no-one trusted the jews.
Moving on to krystallnacht.
We were only told it was fanatical and crazed nazi zealots burning purely jewish literature.
After my discovery I thought this was bull too, so I researched, and it was pornography, marxist/communist literature as well as vast swathes of erotica novels and pornography that far outweighed many books by jewish authors.

So I was on the right track, but not fully there yet. /pol/ helped me to see. I'm not smart enough to articulate to you properly, but if I was you probably wouldn't listen anyway because you're not willing to listen and form your opinions without properly reading and researching and coming back at me with something decent that isn't "hurdurr muh egdy"
