My name is Anya, I'm 27 years young and I'm currently working as an English language instructor for an elementary school in Kyoto Japan. I have also been known to make some pretty interesting comps

Thank you very much for the info! I really hope I get a chance to go next year!

First thing that comes to me when you say research is the /r/Japan subreddit, but do you know any other websites to check for good research?

You make good points. I guess I'll just try and save up for a good while before going. I was actually planning on going this year, but circumstances caused me to spend a lot of my savings (I had about 2.5k saved up) and now I'm left with a little over 500.

Would you say having around 3k saved up would be a good amount of money to go to japan? Spend about 1.5k on the tickets and the rest to spend during the trip itself?

A friend of mine in another country actually makes yearly trips to Japan (he lives a lot closer then I do so obviously the tickets are far less expensive.) and he regularly invites me to meet up with him whenever I have the opportunity to go. It's usually him and his family.

I'd like to say it would be but since a lot of my traveling is through company expense that I don't really pay for, its hard for me to say. I'd do research before you go so you can at least get yourself something of a quote so you have a general point to save up to. Always research.

I hope everything goes well! I can't wait to see more comps and I hope you get better soon!

Just stay strong and don't let it get to you! Whatever it is, you can beat it!
