My name is Anya, I'm 24 years young and I'm currently working as an English language instructor for an elementary school in Osaka Japan. Before anyone asks my life is nothing like an anime, except for the school girls. Everything you've heard is real.

Really love your comps, randompersonontheinternet

Just wanted to say that. Yea.

Based on your comps I'd be pretty much fucked in japan because they seem to be the fucking opposite of germany.
#30 to #29 - bizengaust (07/22/2014) [-]
Yes they are very different. You're from Germany? I spent a summer going around there when I was out of college. I went around Munich and Berlin. It was very lovely also I love you're beer halls

My family is from denmark, although I can't speak a single word danish and was there only once last year, but yea, I'm from germany, bavaria to be exact (If anyone tells you anything about beer and he isn't born in bavaria, chances are he's lying)

You shouldve gone to cologne, THAT is a great city. In my opinion anyways.

こんにちは, random Japan-interested anon here. I really liked you're comps about Japan and I was wondering about something. When I went to Osaka 2 years ago, I was really shocked that there were hardly any free wi-fi spots anywhere (which doubled when I found out there weren't any at McDonalds or Starbucks either). Did you have a similar reaction when you first moved to Japan?

P.S. Could you include vending machines in a future comp? I'm still a little confused as to why they seemed to have one at every block.
#27 to #25 - bizengaust (07/15/2014) [-]
I was at first yes, especially in the cities where you'd think it would be all over the place. The reason for this though is because they have special wi fi cafes where people can go and use computers or a wi fi connection. They are pretty much cyber cafes. They also have book shops like this to. I plan on working the weird vending machines into a comp in the future. I just want to get enough photos of them together first.

annnnd I forgot to log in, so here have another song lol

Spice and Wolf / OP №1 (Nika Lenina & Ancord Russian Version)
#19 to #16 - bizengaust (06/27/2014) [-]
I will officially be downloading that song onto my Ipod. I do know some anime but not a lot I have a very limited knowledge but my students make sure to teach me what is popular. I read a lot of manga though when I was learning about Japanese culture in college though. Kaori Yuki is my favorite mangaka of all time. she did the Count Cain saga,Godchild,Angel Sanctuary, ect.
User avatar #20 to #19 - accidented (06/27/2014) [-]
Unfortunately I do less manga and more anime. Glad you enjoy'd some of NLenina's song. She does lots of opening covers, feel free to check out any other stuff. Thanks for the wonderful facts again! Will you do a part 2?

haha, I've been taking the Rosetta Stone course. Do they assume all white Americans that learn the language are weeaboos? I heard they look down on you for that.

They can if you make it obvious that's why your there. Even if you do like anime you have to be very modest about it. It would be like going to England and assuming everyone likes doctor who as much as you do.

Japanese takes a lot of practice and patience. It took me a long time to lean and it was only when I came here to teach that it started to stick to my speech.

yeah, what program did you go through to become a teacher?
User avatar #11 to #10 - bizengaust (06/22/2014) [-]
I came through Amity which is a really good one. I stayed with them until I got the certification to teach at the school I'm at in Osaka now.
