 POW slave laborers, russians especially, would do everything in their power to sabotage tanks and V2 rockets. A few even bled themselves and poured their blood over hot blocks of steel because blood will instantly oxidize steel and raises the temperatures needed to burn away the impurities, resulting in a very brittle steel.  The early tanks may have worked, but many of the later tanks were rather prone to mechanical failures. Not because of sabotaged parts though; they were just overengineered. | ||

 Yeah I understand the association aspect. Look at it this way, people don't want the familiarity of what to call someone to change. People freak out at name changes. And you gave the perfect example, people flipped shit when he wanted Lion instead. No real reason, if he had started as Lion and later wanted to change to Dogg, people would have flipped their shit in exactly the same fashion. | ||

 You could argue that since it took Caitlyn so long to announce her being trans, she isn't very brave. A brave person would be fearless and not cae about rejection while Caitlyn waited her whole life. #260 -

We call Marilyn Monroe that because that's the name she became famous with, and the name we all heard and used the first few times we spoke about her. If you said 'Norma' to anyone they wouldn't know what you were talking about. Same with Prince, we know him as Prince and it's much easier and quicker to refer to him as Prince so that's what people do. I am all in favour of calling her Caitlyn but people have to accept that there is going to be a transition period while people get used to it and someone referring to her as Bruce doesn't necessarily mean they hate her or are against the decision, it's probably just convenience. anon (06/05/2015) [-] stage names are not the same as a delusion to real identity. Everybody might call him Snoop Dogg, but I bet his ID still says Calvin on it. This is more like... when he went through that phase and wanted to make it snoop lion. There is a difference between stage names and your identity, but a lot of celebrities view their stage name as their identity. I actually find it a bit stranger to go from Calvin to Snoop Dogg/Lion than from Bruce to Caitlyn. They both felt the previous name didn't fit who they are or I'll even go as far as to say who they are trying to be.  Main reason it feels strange is because they're never called it except by family and close friends.  Whether or not you accept trans people, the fact that her name is Caitlyn now does not rely on whether or not she has a dick, and it kinda just makes you sound like stubborn douche to say, "Nah, it's Bruce." The rest of that about that on the award I do not much care about, because yeah, her coming out as trans took bravery, but it had nothing to do with sports #178 -

 True. More officially it's simply called a single-payer system, which makes much more sense but also is a much less appealing title. In truth, I like the system under Obamacare. I realize a lot of people don't, but forcing insurance companies to take ability-to-pay into account when deciding insurance rates means that poor people can still have insurance, while the more upper-class groups contribute more to compensate for that fact. I realize a lot of people claim that they're "making just enough money to have to pay more while still not being able to afford it" but I find that a bit hard to swallow, and I kinda suspect that they just suck at managing their personal finances. Somewhat like a fat person complaining about how they can't lose weight while shoving cake in their face. | ||

| No, you should. Without a single-payer system to hospital will have to pay for the equipment and staff when he comes in on an ambulance after a heart attack and doesn't have the money to pay the bills. While it sucks, with one option the hospital is in debt and with the other the country is, and the country has a metric fuckton more money than one hospital. #291 -
