It isn't. Competitive weightlifting isn't healthy. A large part of the competition is pushing yourself past what is healthy in order to compete with other people who don't care about their health.

>>#158,

Well let's take a look at some risks of being a low body fat. The essential amount of body fat a male needs is 3%. The most a person can be healthy and stay at a low body fat is around 10%. 8% is pushing it. I'll just copy and paste the risks of low body fat cause I'm lazy.
"A man with low body fat may have dry skin, increased cold sensitivity, reduced energy, hair loss, impaired immune system function and increased bruising. Although athletes tend to have reduced body fat, body fat amount below essential level will result in decreased athletic performance. Health issues will worsen if fat levels are kept at a decreased level."
And you can just look up the severe dehydration risks

It will also depend on if you go clean or you take DNP or some shit. If you don't know, DNP is drug that will make you be really ineffective at using energy, meaning more fat will be used throughout the day. Sounds fantastic? Right?
Wrong.
DNP, if used incorrectly, will kill you. There are so many stories online about people taking DNP. Look them up if you want. But a lot of them go something like this. "I didn't drink as much water as I was supposed to and almost died, I was stuck in a very hot place for a while and almost died, I was forced to drink alcohol due to social peer pressure and almost died, or I accidentally came weird yellow radioactive stuff inside my girlfriend and she's currently washing out her vagina in the bathroom screaming"

Other than DNP, if you go the clean way down to 4% body fat. If you go closer and closer to your goal, you risk losing a lot of muscle, you become weak and fatigued more quickly, you fight your body every step of the way. Assuming if you spend a long time to lower your bodyfat, the risks will the minimal. But if you do it as quickly as you can, lets say you're training for a Mr. Universe type competition that's in a month. Then there's all of the risks plus more

have fun.

You can own a gun in Singapore, but it comes with several restrictions.

First, you have to be a member of the Singapore Gun Club. Membership will set you back $1,980 for the entrance fee, and an additional $300 per month.

Then, you will have to apply for an Arms and Explosives licence from the Singapore Police Force. Once the police grants you a licence, you can purchase your own firearm from a handful of gun shops in Singapore.

As it turns out, there is a small circle of gun-owning Singaporeans who meet regularly to share their passion for shooting. And they don't seem particularly keen on expanding that circle.

See I don't see high gun violence unless you take News and Media spins on it which are usually inflated or highly dramatized to make it seem like it is. America's gun violence problem really is a gang violence problem as stated by Lean. You are right banning guns in America would end very badly and it would require you to use the military to disarm the citizens through executive order or congressional order depending on who issues it. I do not agree with mental health checks unless there are some by laws or guidelines on what is not counted as mental health problems. If you let the government do it that will give them free reign on deciding who can have it and how many a year can be issued. If you let the state do it then it will be slow and tedious not to mention the federal government might try the same tatics they have done in the past to get the states to follow laws which is limiting or eliminating federal aid to the state if they do not comply. These are the reasons I am against the mental health check that congress wanted to try and pass a few years back for inclusion on the background checks because they could arbitrarily say who is mentally fit to own a gun or not. Maybe more intensive background checks are needed and a voluntary Gun safety class / Hunter safety Class since both are really good at covering the bases of use of guns.

Outlawing guns would never work.
Passing a law requiring more stringent qualifications for gun ownership affects only people who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes with guns. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
Fact: only 0.7% of convicts purchased their firearms through a licensed dealer.
Fact: 90% of violent crimes in the US do not involve firearms.
Fact: gang violence accounts for 83% of all gun related crimes.
Fact: 74% of felons agreed that, “one reason burglars avoid houses when people are at home is that they fear being shot during the crime"
Fact: 60% of victims of violent crimes have a history of violent crime
Fact: fewer than 1% of firearms in the US will be used in commission of a crime.

You need to look up the definition of natural rights. They aren't laws. More along the lines of right to breathe, right to sleep. The right to defend yourself by the same measures which you are attacked (guns).

Let me know if you want citations, because I have got em

I do want those sources thank you very much. However I do see it this way, I know outlawing guns won't work I never proposed that. I don't really think anything related to gun limitations will work in America because guns have been so free reign for a very lawing time. In other places of the world gun limitations have worked and do work, like for instance where i live, Singapore. There is very little to no gun violence here because no one other than an officer can get them and criminals have little to no chance of getting them. Thats most probably why I am against guns because simply thats the environment I grew up in.

Necessity meaning any law or ruling of "necessity". EX: "Gun violence is an epidemic in this country so we must outlaw guns by necessity".
It applies to any ruling justified as a necessity. There is not one law on the books justified by "necessity" that doesn't infringe on your natural rights in some way.

#120 - billycakes (09/16/2015) [-]
I don't think outlawing guns will work in america though. That stuff has been free reign for so long and is everywhere that banning them would literally only cause trouble. However I do think it is a necessity, I'm using this word on purpose here, because of how high gun violence is there. Also by natural rights do you mean human or american gun rights? Cause human rights don't have anything about the right to owning a gun I think.
#316 - ByeliVolk (09/16/2015) [-]

Last time I made a post it was about me being disgusted at people on FJ defending Hitler in comments, 75% of the comments were calling me a kike and butthurt jew and saying IT'S JUST A JOKE GUYS, WE'RE JUST PRETENDING TO BE RACIST. Hell I actually ARGUED with people in that post that were saying WWII wasn't the Nazi's fault. I mean for fucks sake man. There is a difference between jokes and actual fact, and if it's a joke, people are overdoing it just for the sake of being edgy. It's kind of sad really. I like offensive humor, but I like it in small doses. I honestly never got the Jew Hate I'm Catholic so eh , The Muslim hate I sort of understand but people are going to the fucking extreme and generalizing like crazy because one dude was being sarcastic and wrote an edgy comment.

God damn it FJ, sort your shit out.
