Yeah, a lot of people just prefer one system over another for no good reason.
I can definitely see the benefits of consoles- it's pretty sweet to just have something you can quickly turn on, put a disc in, and play the game, with no messing around with settings or huge download times

>why would you make a game exclusively for super high end pc's even if it was a pc exclusive it would be retarded to do that as you would be alienating a huge audience

That was exactly what Crysis was, a graphical benchmark of it's time that most people needed to upgrade to play. It was also a pretty solid success.

#126 - billycakes (01/10/2016) [-]
To play or to play on high settings? Also wasn't it also available for consoles too? Let me answer that: Yes it was and released 2 years into the Xbox 360 and PS3's life cycle.
#47 - anon (01/10/2016) [-]
just dont, you cant enlighten a pc masterfag who wasted money on an over powered computer, and doesnt understand that a game without 60 fps and retarded graphics can infact be good.
#123 - anon (01/10/2016) [-]
Sounds like someone is just mad cuz he aint got enough money for an overpowered computer to not understand that a game without 60 fps and retarded graphics can infact be good. (But in all seriousness I agree. I like pc master rice, but I still enjoy games with retarded graphics and I use to play on consoles...though I admit I can't stand lower than 60 fps anymore. Not sure why.)
User avatar
#59 - ilovehitler (01/10/2016) [-]
Of course a game running on a measly 60fps can be good. Plenty of them are.
But they could be better, and that's what it's all about.
Think of it this way: you could sleep in a soft bed, or you could sleep in a bed exactly how soft you want it in a room exactly the temperature you want it.
Both are nice, but one's nicer.
The obsession with better graphics is because it's something the user can control to make their experience better. I don't desire top end sound and graphics because it's a shit experience without them, but because it's a better experience with them.

More than anything else, that's the problem with consoles. It's predetermined how nice you can make your gaming experience- no real modding and a limited framerate means you're stuck with whatever quality you're handed, and nothing is left up to you.
And why would I accept that when it could be better?
User avatar
#66 - billycakes (01/10/2016) [-]
Yeah they could run better on PC and I accept that but the thing is you make it sound like graphics make or break the experience which is completely un-true

**anonymous used "*roll picture*"**
**anonymous rolled image**The book does not kill anyone trough the entire manga, what it does do thou, is.

#41 - shao (01/09/2016) [-]
Not necessarily. If the method of death is not possible, they are supposed to simply die of a heart attack. So if nothing that can be written down works and he survives, then he faces his heart failing, but if he survives that too...
User avatar
#14 - alcantara (01/09/2016) [-]
The Death Note can only kill via reasonable means, where the means writtwn are unreasonable the cause of death is a heart attack; however, this fail-safe is ineffective were a heart attack to prove ineffective against Saitama - once again raisig the question "can it kill him, and if so, how?"

The "guaranteed" nature of the Death Note is dependent on a heart attack being fatal - there's no real reason to think that it would kill should a heart attack be incapable of killing the target.
User avatar
#125 - dfgthree (01/10/2016) [-]
The Death Note doesn't just "give" someone a heart attack. It states that the person "will die" of a heart attack. Unless the show uncovers some aspect where Saitama is actually a god, he would die. The Death Note is originally made for gods, not mortal men, which means that the power it has would exceed anything less than a god. "The person who's name is written in this book will die." That is the rule.
User avatar
#130 - alcantara (01/10/2016) [-]
Saitama was punched so hard he went crashing into the moon, stood up, then jumped back to Earth; not sure we can assume he is mortal, given he should have been killed on at least three counts in that instance alone.
User avatar
#137 - dfgthree (01/10/2016) [-]
He's cleary not an ordinary mortal man, but we can't really say he is a god, and like I said, anything less than a god can die by the death note
User avatar
#138 - alcantara (01/10/2016) [-]
You base everything on rules, which some Shinigami write, with those rules both being incomplete in terms of the Shinigami's knowledge (they purposefully hold back) and the incomplete knowledge of the Shinigami (Ryuk isn't sure about several things involving the Death Note, is surprised by some things such as being able to use a page that was torn out, etc.).

For all we know, Saitama has reached a level where he would probe yet another exception to the "rule" - although there's actually no rules, only a "how to use" guide, and the Shinigami will have written that in intending the user to write the name of "an ordinary mortal man".

Tl;dr The Death Note has so many exceptions that I don't buy the assertion it'd work when nothing else seems to work.
User avatar
#32 - captainfuckitall (01/09/2016) [-]
That is true, however it's worth noting that heart-attacks are not always (and, in fact, when you get to a hospital or to proper medical treatment in time) rarely fatal, yet EVERYONE who had a heart attack induced by the Death Note died.

As it stands, that would mean it would somehow have to give Saitama a strong enough heart attack to kill him, which is possible because he IS still human, and if his heart doesn't work he WILL die.
User avatar
#24 - mrwalkerfour (01/09/2016) [-]
if you don't write a cause of death it will just auto kill him so don't write down a scenario.
User avatar
#45 - alcantara (01/09/2016) [-]
"Auto-kill" is via heart attack, refer back to my original post - the whole point is to stipulate that a heart attack wouldn't kill him; seems unreasonable, until you consider what else should have killed him yet didn't.
User avatar
#25 - mrishouldstudy (01/09/2016) [-]
that 'auto kill' is by an heart attack.
User avatar
#26 - mrwalkerfour (01/09/2016) [-]
i imagine that a heart attack could still not kill a regualr human as technically they could have someone wuickly resusitate them, i imagine that it just keeps going until they collapse and die

so if it didnt kill him, itd be a constant heart attack in his body, his body would struggle to cope and it'd shut down he'd be completely fucked forever.

#13 - nerdking (01/09/2016) [-]
To be fair, we've seen stuff in a vaguely similar vein being used on him before, and it just kinda...whiffed. I think it was Tsubitchi who tried some sort of energy drain shit on him where she drained his life force, and he didn't even notice.

Considering the premise of his show, it wouldn't be too out there to suggest that Saitama is actually just straight-up omnipotent, and the only reason he's punching people is because he's a dumbass.
User avatar
#123 - dfgthree (01/10/2016) [-]
He is still organic though, if his heart stops, his body stops. A guaranteed heart attack from the Death Note would kill him, worst comes to worst, just write down that Saitama finds his own weakness and kills himself, if anyone has the power to kill Saitama, it's Saitama.
#119 - dontread (01/09/2016) [-]

There's a theory that the training actually is responsible for his power, despite how mundane it is, in that his attitude toward it allowed him to achieve enlightenment, essentially making him a god.
User avatar
#43 - dndxplain (01/09/2016) [-]
>>#13, my theory for the longest time is that he's a reality warper. the fire in his eyes is it triggering. it requires application though. Genos stated the workout he did is fairly common and low brow for non-heroic athletes, but Saitama wanted to be "a hero who could defeat any enemy in one punch" so that's what he became. he also gets tons of bullshit to ensure that. it's been stated his power is that he can't lose.
#79 - kelex (01/09/2016) [-]
My theory for Saitama's power is simply because he consistently went over his limit with his limit, doing training that he wasn't supposed to be able to do but did, and did it for 3 years, and because of that, his limit simply breaks, making his body have no limit of endurance, stamina and power.
#85 - anon (01/09/2016) [-]
I'm supporting this theory. It seems the way ONE wants it to be. Nothing special about him; he just trained crazy hard compared to what he's capable of doing.
User avatar
#90 - simonhatesfj (01/09/2016) [-]
Not necessarily. Remember that one character that remarked on how it was like there was a god residing in Saitama? It's not all too far-fetched.
#83 - anon (01/09/2016) [-]
i thought the entire premise of the one punch man universe was if you tried hard and wanted something enough you become that thing. like how the one monster became a lobster because he loved eating lobster or how garou turns into that demon thing because he wanted to be a monster. saitama wanted to be a hero who could defeat any generic villain, which is basically every villain in the series, and due to this became some living embodiment of justice who could defeat any evil. maybe others rarely or just simply cannot reach saitamas level because the drive to be evil out weighs the drive to be good in most people
User avatar
#124 - dfgthree (01/10/2016) [-]
The problem with that theory, is if it were true then Mumen Rider would actually be stronger than Saitama.
User avatar
#126 - quantumranger (01/10/2016) [-]
Well, Mumen Rider has accepted his limits. He stays in C-class, and his whole speech to the Deep Sea King is about how he knows he won't win but he has to fight anyways.
User avatar
#136 - dfgthree (01/10/2016) [-]
He knows he can't win because he just can't, but if the theory was true, he would have been stronger than Saitama and he would have won because he knew he could. The theory was that what you wish to achieve, you can, and Mumen rider wishes to be that strong, but he just isn't.
