My dad didn't like me talking bout the new chips bill gates has been overseeing that contains 16 years of contriceptive and I said "maybe we're at a point you just mandate putting one in every 8 year old girl and at 18 they can have it deactivated or let it run out (at 24). I know it's a fucked up idea, but at this point I don't think there are any routes to be eased into... big jumps are what may be needed... but I hope I'm wrong and it never needs to happen.

I saw a family full of kids that all looked... "down" a bit (down syndrome) and started pondering the gene pool.. then the mother started loosing her shit when her kids would ask simple questions.. even smacked her youngest for asking to wash her hands... after the MOTHER BOUGHT HER CHEETOS... YOU'RE THE REASON SHE NEEDS HER HANDS WASHED AND YOU HIT HER!? I almost lost my fucking cool... >

The nice thing about fat is it's much easier to put it on, then turn it into muscle, but I don't think I could bring myself to do that. I've only gotta gain around 15-20 pounds, and I'll be able to focus a lot more on it this year since I'm no longer committed to any organized sports. I'm hoping to be there by the end of the year

dude, apples.. for the two I bought a day ago (smaller then a baseball... like, tiny) cost me $2 I honestly almost didn't even bother but I really wanted an apple. bought three oranges and that cost me about $2.69... wtf is happening with produce... and there were a lot of people there just buying it like it's a normal/ok price...

small bag of salad that makes me one salad (if that) is $1 a bag. buying the lettuce is only marginally cheaper (a few cents) and doesn't have carrots and stuff with it.... I just don't understand how it got this bad and yet I can go get a pound of swedish fish or something for about $2 or less... why?! how!?

Not trying to assault you man sorry if I came off that way. I'm just saying that losing weight comes down to how many calories you eat, not what foods or how many grams of fat. People tend to lose weight by eating "clean" because those foods have less calories.

well, seeing as how it's recently been found that just counting calories and excersicing (sp) is, basically, retarded (my short version of the articles I read).
#65 - bighairybacon (08/17/2014) [-]
Not really. If your TDEE is 3000 calories, you need to eat 2500 a day and you will lose fat. Lifting helps ensure that you don't lose lots of muscle while doing this.

Link the articles? There is no magic diet or anything, you can literately get shredded eating nothing but poptarts. There is actually a guy who lost 10-15lb in a month eating nothing but McD. The secret is eating below your TDEE. If you aren't losing weight, you need to eat less.

situps are garbage. I rarely do situps because they work so little of your abs. The best thing about them though is if you do any sort of lifting, benching, squatting, anything really, you'll still be engaging your abs to some degree and will get some definition, but if you want those popping and defined abs, you've gotta isolate them. I do ab burnouts 3-5 times a week in a circuit of things like leg lifts, planks, bicycle kicks and other exercises.
#63 - bighairybacon (08/17/2014) [-]
Yeah, personally I train for strength so I only include core isolation for carryover to my compounds, but I can confirm compound movements will give you great abs.

I go more by weight. Right now I'm trying to put on mass, but as lean a mass that I can get. I'm gonna try to get to a weight of around 200, then just try to master my own body with cardio, strength training and agility/plyometrics stuff, and at 6'4", I'll still be pretty thin.

I have a fast metabolism and also a small stomach. I make sure I get my recommended daily calories for a adult male. So I literally just this second ordered some ON Serious Mass Protein shake. have one of those post workout and keep to what I eat and it should all work out good
User avatar #83 - cdlight (08/11/2014) [-]
A fast metabolism means you have a body of an athelete
User avatar #82 - cdlight (08/11/2014) [-]
And protein shakes make your body dependant on that type of soluble, easily digested protein. It actually makes it harder for your body to digest other types of protein, but if you eat lots of fruits and nuts, plus beans and rice in the same meal, which completes the 8 essential amino acids needed for muscle growth, then you should be fine. Don't forget to eat lots of mangos and papayas, just because you want muscle doesn't mean you don't need other vitamins.
User avatar #79 - cdlight (08/11/2014) [-]
Its not a myth, you need one to be in good health. I used to wrestle in high school, I have a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and am a mediocre Wing Chun practicioner. Eat nuts and fruits and duck what people say according to their ego beliefs. Go running and do push UPS and ab workouts with a nut/avocado/beas+rice diet and you'll grow muscle FASTER. Just work till your muscles are sore. If they're not sore, you didn't work out enough. And only work th same muscles every other day or you can damage them. Also do lots of stretching. And drink water
#131 - Killeratdawn (08/12/2014) [-]
Between sets I drink water and rest for 90 seconds. And I have a routine for the weeks to come now which is nice. I'm not going to rely on protein shakes. I'm going to eat protein high meals, but I only ordered this shake because I find it incredibly hard to put on weight as it is. this stuff is meant to be incredible for it. It's there to just push me over the amount of calories I need and also since it's a liquid I can drink it easier than eating a full meal straight after a workout because that would be really hard for me.
User avatar #135 - cdlight (08/18/2014) [-]
Just do your workouts regularly and you'll be fine. After a few weeks you'll want to do more too, once you get used to it. Cardio is also something to do, besides just looking pretty. Meditation is by far the best. You don't even have to work out if you do THAT. XD but seriously, check out the book "You Are Here" by Thich Nhat Han or look up "Buddhist Meditation" or "How to Meditate" on Google.
#54 - bighairybacon (08/11/2014) [-]
I used to be underweight, honestly the whole "fast metabolism" thing is mostly a myth. Just remember that protein shakes are no different than protein from chicken, or poptarts. The mass gainers are mostly just sugar, it will be cheaper in the long run to make your own with milk, oats, protein, etc. Mass gainer is ridiculously expensive lol.

Overtime your stomach will stretch, but be prepared to have some stomach aches for now. Best of luck man
