It is true though. Vanilla XCOM is so lackluster and so mediocre compared to what Long War has added. The fact that Long War hasn't really 'added' anything, such as models or textures, makes it even more amazing.

Then change it. One of the amazing features of long war is that you can tune it to be exactly the way you want. For example I didn't really like the bullet spongey nature of the late game aliens so I cut down on their scaling to be something along the vanilla lines, although stronger to account for the more powerful weapons you have in long war.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas were quite bad, you would have a much better time with Fallout 4 or Skyrim if you want story and immersive world. 3 really has no depth in the game You just save your dad and watch him die New Vegas has plenty to do but it just feels inferior to what other games have to offer.

I don't totally agree with you but think that your argument is quite valid. However, one of the main reasons I like the older games alot is because they got a very different feel to them. I also like that they are consistant to the lore, something I think bethesda is really bad at. I really liked New Vegas and thought that was a step in the right direction. Fallout 4 is fun but it has a bunch of flaws and it feels like it adds less then what it removes.
