It always pissed me off during gamergate how people on FJ were always accusing women of playing up or just fabricating the death and rape threats that they claimed to receiving, while at the same time I was seeing comments calling for anti-GG's to be brutally murdered. I'm not exaggerating that either, the exact wording in one comment was ¨I sincerely hope someone brutally murders Anita or Zoe¨, and I'm sure we all remember seeing comments written along the same lines. I mean sure, I wouldn't put it past Anita to lie about this sort of thing, because I still think she's a con artist, but after what I saw written here on FJ, I certainly wouldn't put it past some people on the GG side to make those kinds of threats either. So maybe some of it was played up or fabricated, but definitely not all of it, and that's still really awful. In it's own small way, it was quite sad for me to see so much vitriol all across a site people come to just to have a bit of fun.

I do agree that harassment is on both sides but the problem is one side is not asking for a place in this world where they can have games that share their views can be enjoyed and share, the same goes for literature and movies but instead they are demanding with lies that nothing be made or even looked at that doesn't agree with their views. GG isn't asking to not make diverse characters or stories driven by what could be viewed as tropes. We don't mind diversity at all but the opposition is asking that they stop making them all together for things that for their narratives. Look at the recent spat about female Thor. Most people aren't mad that Thor is now a female because there are plenty of strong female leads in comic. Most people are mad that it is a forced view placed into a universe that doesn't fit in with the cannon and lore of the story. That's why you don't see anyone(excluding racist) angry that the next captain america is black. The next big issue is that the points they like are being pushed forward now whenjust because the moment will get you noticed. Do you honestly think most sites now care about feminist views because its what they believe or because it is pure 100% golden click bait sure to bring In views just because of the controversy it creates. And why, because people might get offended, because they have a powerful feeling that may be triggered? So the fuck what? Most of these people do not understand the true meaning of trauma and I hope they never do. All they are fighting are first world problem.s that take away from real issues in the world. Why are they fighting for more female influence in a industry? Chances are if females are not the majority of a industry now it is not because a man told them they won't fit in it was probably because not very many of them are trying to get into it. How many male women's studies instructor out their? Why isn't there more men interest in child care? These are roles dominated by women because it appeals more to them then learning to code or web design. But what do I know I'm just a man I couldn't imagine the struggle of a women in a world ruled by men.
