- prepare to live your entire life in miserable captivity
Mama shows off her baby to...
Oh no, you get free food competition free and medical care every day. Must be rough.
just like in prison
Prison you can get beat up/raped any time. Last I check that doesnt happen to animals in zoos near as much as it does animals in the wild, just a thought
not in first world country prisons.
Not in first world country zoos either
in a 50x50 enclosure
That's bigger than the last place
That's bigger than most the basement's majority of internet dwellers spend their life in.
But it's a wild animal that most likely wants space to run and hunt
They cant comprehend it or maybe they can, but trust me they have it better where they are safe warm and fed instead of in the wild where poachers hunt them to extinction, their babies usually starve to death, larger predators chase them off their territory. these few animals get to live an easy spoiled life. its really not as bad as people think if you look from a different perspective than oh they live in an enclosure
True. I think I'm just coming from my perspective of not liking to be cooped up in my room all the time. Errybody's different, i feel ya.
I feel you aswell. only introverts enjoy being cooped up in their room, thats why I get out and do stuff whenever possible, live life. But if someone offered me a place to stay with free food and medical care and I dont have to do anything but what I already do on a daily basis Id take it. Easy life ftw. But then again I hate having to work for every damn thing as I always have. So different viewpoints
You surely can't compare a leopard with a human being?
And what you said goes both ways. People who are against animals in captivity have no real way of knowing if thats what the animal wants or not. if you ask me that leopard looks pretty damn happy with itself though
You really think it is better for the animal to live in captivity than being free?
Of course, if the animal doesn't survive, it would've been better off in captivity.
Yeah, no. We can tell in many cases. Animals get depressed, don't wan't to eat, get sick and even die just because they're in captivity. Roaming freely is embedded deep in their very genetic code, it runs even deeper than just pure comfort of satisfying instincts and basic needs.
So while this is true to simpler organisms many mammals suffer and we can tell they are and we know why they are suffering. Especially when you're in the family of the fastest land animals on the planet and your main thing is running.
As for the fact that they are better of physically and medically it's a dispute over living vs supporting existence.
Inability to leave your room
Sounds like my life.
