I forgot, my roommate wanted to use his schooling to delve into renewable research. He had to beat back every job offer he got from coal and oil refining companies and was just super pissed/depressed throughout the whole thing. He didn't want to end up like Marshal from HIMYM

TBH my opinion is less you should choose the major that will net you the most money, but the one that doesn't leave you wanting to kill yourself at the end of the day. Otherwise you end up like my roommate, who picked Chemical engineering. Sure he's got a job...making paint. What that means though is he went through 4-5 years of college killing himself with work just to use that schooling in a field he had absolutely no interest in, but hey...it's a job right?

If you pick a major you're interested in, any job you get that's even a little bit relevant will be of interest to you. Granted, it doesn't nullify the fact that not all majors are created equal. If you feel you're just gonna find yourself bitching about not having a job, find an interest in a more lucrative subject. People only ever say "I can't do science..." No...people can't do Chemistry, or Physics, but there's most likely a science you're proficient with. It's either that or taking your degree to a tech school and using that for a job while your degree is your "hobby" until you can make a career out of it.

No you don't, not at the first year of college, or most certainly not based off of your first year of schooling (or what, were they super impressed with the remedial English and Math classes you were taking?)

And if it's with the college, that definitely doesn't count.

You're right. I don't use what I've learned in college...Not much to learn in a semester. I just signed in for a two month full-time training(outside of college)and passed all the exams. Anyway I won't try to prove anything. The whole reason behind my comment was that I don't want to see any more highschoolers that don't know what they want to do in the future so they just choose whatever major they see first. I meant to help people realise that choosing a good major is important if you want to have a job you will like and get payed well for. Yes, the job market sucks now, but if you give your best you'll find something.

tl;dr I just posted that to tell people this: If you are in highschool, it's better to learn as much as possible, and have fun later with your money, than to drink your youth away and then wonder why you don't have a job

You don't really experience death. You either experience an afterlife or nothing. Guess it depends on whether you count the afterlife as death. You could argue either way.
