since i had nightmares pretty much every night for my entire childhood everything from being naked in class to being impaled and left to slowly bleed out in some chaotic nightmare landscape its now some neat instinct of mine to go all lucid when things start getting weird and mess with the dream all i wanted. past few years though ive been having extremely realistic dreams where everything seems completely normal, except things like people i love no longer love me or a pet is killed happen in some believable way so i never realize its a dream. cant even do the whole force myself awake trick since i still think im awake.
these kinda nightmares bug me in ways skies filled with shaking bloodshot eyes or falling into lava never could. sometimes i even try to induce more outlandish nightmares to avoid the realistic ones.

you are freaking me out now, that is literally the EXACT same as me, when the reoccurring nightmare faded i started being able to wake myself up from nightmares, then into i could control my dreams and nightmares, i remember the first time i did it. It was a dream where my neighborhood had been infested with gigantic spiders and i just imagined my friends and a large box of guns where there.

Now i basically have free will in a set parameter within my dreams, but everything is realistic, one nightmare i had the other night was i spent $200 on something i couldn't afford (since in real life i currently have eaten my overdraft and have absolutely no money to spare) this shit me up hard id have taken the hellscape dream over that shit.

i realized this and it's kind of bittersweet because it really was the beginning of me coming out of my shell and trying to make my dreams come true. i've applied to college and i'm going to graduate without her in the audience. there's just so much that i haven't done yet. but yes, she was there and she was happy and i am grateful for that. thank you.
