*force field is shown to deflect a frequency, the same frequency of the alien's guns
*force field can be seen as a sort of black-list, it does not let radiation on certain frequencies to penetrate it.
*bullet is not wave, therefore it can pass through field.

I'd forgotten writing this. As a result, I was utterly dumbfounded by the comment preview with the alert. anyway, that makes sense

Maybe it's the piercing effect of the projectile?
The way a bullet places all of it's kinetic energy into one fixed point at the tip could be something the shields were not designed for.
Or maybe I'm retarded haha.
#13 - herokamikun (12/30/2014) [-]
The way I saw it was a dumber version of what sgtxrootbeer had said; that the shield blocked out frequencies of waves/photons it operated on, so the lasers had no way to penetrate. But as a bullet is more like a giant solid particle and used kinetics rather than photon and wave frequencies for weaponization, it would make quick work of the shields, only perhaps being ionized as a possible outcome.

The UNSC Infinity is going around the galaxy at this point to test its systems, and Lord Hood, who is onboard, finds out about the attack (now already in progress). Paartially to help the Arbiter, and partially as a show of force, the Infinity shows up and destroys most of Telcam's forces, killing Raia in the process. (It should be noted at this point that Hood doesn't know about Kilo 5 or the arms deals, though he suspects. Kilo 5, disguising themselves as a Kig-Yar (jackal) ship also blows up a few of the Arbiter's vessels).

Anyway, Jul finds out that his wife is dead, and gets angry at the humans for imprisoning him and killing his wife. He has been equipped with an explosive harness and a huragok handler at this point, so he can walk around a little bit without threatening ONI's hold on him. he finds a nexus of portals in poor condition, and then threatens the huragok. He threatens th blow the harness, damaging the ruins (the imperative thing to portect in the Huragok's eyes) unless the harness is removed. the huragok complies, and Jul dashes through the portal. He finds himself on a Sangheili colony wolrd that, IIRC, wasn't aware that the war ended or that the Forerunners were less ogds and more ancient, dead aliens. He manipulates their religious devotion, claiming that he is "The Hand of the Didact" that they have waited so long for, and drives them against the humans, picking up other Covenant disenfranchised with the Arbiter and huamns along the way. And thus, you have the Covenant Remenant

The thing is, I can never find pilots, but they are doing a damn fine job at finding me.
I get lots of Titan kills though, so I guess that is good.
Should I stay on the rooftops more so that I can find more people?
User avatar #15 - Ripper (03/25/2014) [-]
If you level higher you get tactical ability to see enemies through walls for a while thats how they find you. but it doesnt show it constantly but the people flashes orange. So it can get confusing.
User avatar #20 - roflnaut (03/25/2014) [-]
Alright, I think I am getting better. Last game I had 17 pilot kills and 4 deaths, with 4 titan kills.
Big difference compared to my usual 3 pilot kills and 12 deaths.
User avatar #8 - belikea (03/24/2014) [-]
Don't ask me! I think about 80% of my kills are bots. Rooftops can be useful, especially if no one knows you're there, but they also leave you exposed. I've started to look for any enemy that sprints/ parkours, areas where bots are dying in droves (usually means someone's shooting them), the larger red dots on the map (in case you haven't seem the tooltip), or, most tellingly, titans (that last one might, just maybe, be a little obvious).

I personally find myself doing best against titans when they're at low health. As a lower level player, I prefer the longbow to the rocket launcher (more ersatile, shorter reload), so I don't often inflict too much damage. I find it really useful to drop a titan and immediately set it in guard or attack mode in those scenarios, however. It's more guns on the target, with less risk to the player.
