exept laws need to evolve with the times, a law set in the 1600 will have to be changed to fit the 2000s, just cause your government put up some certain laws back then it doesnt mean they dont have to change with time as well, i mean there is literally no reason for the second amendment anymore since if people took up guns against the government it would just all go to hell
User avatar #186 - bearinganhourglass (10/11/2013) [-]
I'm not talking about the second amendment. Yes, I do agree that laws should evolve and change. Not all of them, though. Some should stay basic rights. Freedom of assembly and speech are some of our most basic rights. We have no right to privacy. The things that should change, don't.

Yep all except Under A Velvet Cloak.
Bearing an hourglass is your favorite right? Mine was For The Love Of Evil.
User avatar #4 to #3 - bearinganhourglass (08/06/2013) [-]
I haven't read Under a Velvet Cloak yet, either. I own it, though.
Yes, Bearing an Hourglass is my favorite. Is it obvious haha. Why is For Love of Evil your favorite?
User avatar #5 to #4 - elitehacker (08/06/2013) [-]
It didn't look as interesting as the others to me but you never know.
Yeah it is pretty obvious lol. Why is it your favorite?

Cause Parry isn't evil, he is just filling his role and dislikes the role of God (JHVH) and challenges that constantly. He started out as a religious guy and wants what he thinks is fair for everyone and doesn't want to hurt anyone.. The symbolizing to the Bible was pretty cool and a lot of the ideology behind the whole thing was really intriguing. It even goes as far to model after the book of revelations with the archangel gabriel. I really like studying theology and how it effects society, for good or bad, it's all interesting to me.
User avatar #6 to #5 - bearinganhourglass (08/06/2013) [-]
Norton is one of my favorite characters. He's a very selfless, honest, caring man. He also took a needed role, limiting his life to 40 years, knowing when he was going to die. It also gives the concept that there is a finite amount of time, considering he was going backwards, rather than forward. That book was just full of interesting, thought provoking ideas. So was On a Pale Horse.

I can understand why you like it. I do sympathize with Parry. Everyone thinking him evil.
User avatar #7 to #6 - elitehacker (08/06/2013) [-]
He was one of the stronger characters in all the books. Yeah they played around with tons of time tricks and twists.

You have a favorite part in On A Pale Horse? Mine was the atheist who committed suicide and what happened to him afterwards.
User avatar #8 to #7 - bearinganhourglass (08/06/2013) [-]
That's my favorite part, too. It definitely got me thinking. Such a simple scene, though,
