Apparently John Tyler's son had children in his 70's, which was in the 1920's. Makes sense now.

The rules didn't specify if it was changing sex by anatomy or name only, so in my universe the names of the sexes are just opposite, so I'd be switching sexes but my anatomy would be the same.

I'd guess that this probably works best for lower-income situations where you would have less than $1000 in your account at a bank anyways.

Okay, I guess I was misinterpreting how money laundering works. Thanks for clarifying that. What about the tax evasion thing though? I'm not saying that it's always tax evasion, just that it would facilitate it. Though come to think of it so would hiding the money in cash somewhere. I guess I'm just looking for reasons for this not to work because it seems like it should be illegal.
User avatar #48 - beardgasm (03/19/2014) [-]
Well if you didn't pay taxes on your income when you should, that's tax evasion. I suppose you could pre order a bunch of games to hide your assets, but doing what this describes isn't illegal in and of itself. And like someone else said, there's a limited amount of money you could put in since there's only so many games on pre-order, so it probably wouldn't help you much anyways. I guess if you had a lot of money to hide you could pre order games at several gamestops, but there's probably easier ways to hide money.

okeydoke, thanks. Out of curiosity, how wouldn't it be laundering money? I understand why it wouldn't be tax evasion because you're still paying taxes on the income (though if it was undeclared income and you put it in gamestop bank come tax time, that would definitely be tax evasion), but why wouldn't it be money laundering? If it was illegal money, wouldn't it be passing it through a legal institution to throw off the cops, which I believe is money laundering?
User avatar #46 - beardgasm (03/19/2014) [-]
If the money came from an illegal source then yes, but usually laundering money involves making it look like you earned the illegal money through legal means...I don't see how preordering a game and then getting your money back would accomplish that since you're not creating an alternate explanation for where the money came from.

tbh I finished it in a 5 day rental too... It would still be fucking worth it to buy, even though it lacks replayability, I would love to replay that game just for the humor, like I replay Paper Mario all the time even though that game has 0 replayability. If I love a game, no matter what, I buy it, unfortunately I'm poor now so I can't afford it... Hell anytime critics point out stupid flaws like that or a game being repetitive, I just ignore that because those are just dumb reasons not to buy a game, let alone buy it then resell it.

I thought Monster Hunter was a bout grinding so you could get the next best armor or weapon, that's just what I've heard.
User avatar #106 - beardgasm (03/16/2014) [-]
Yeah you grind bosses to get materials, but theres no grinding levels to help you kill the bosses. I think the missions on the PSP one went up to 8 stars...I could only do the 3 star ones before I just ragequit.

I've never played Monster Hunter but have always wanted to. How is it hard?
User avatar #76 - beardgasm (03/16/2014) [-]
It's kind of like dark souls in that it's unforgiving and you have to block and dodge and know bosses moves like the back of your hand, but twice as much so. Plus there's not really any grinding levels or stat points to make things easier, you just have to get through on skill alone.
