The players themselves might be dumb brutes, but the coaches and other people who create the defensive and offensive plays are far from it. It takes serious strategy on their part to be able to decide, under high pressure situations, what play they should run, whereas soccer is just, "uhh kick it that way"
As for the duration of the game, I never knew soccer was 90 mins because whenever I try to watch it on tv it gets so boring that it seems it drags on forever. I apologize for this though, and commend you on your ability to watch faggots run back and forth for any longer than a couple minutes.
