I'm running a 4 channel amp for 2 6.5" component sub/tweeter and a dual voice coil 6.5" shallow mount sub
User avatar #14234 - basshead (04/13/2015) [-]
Ah, nice, I'm just gonna be running coax 6.5"'s up front and coax 6x9's in the rear deck, I was going to run components, but I didn't want to cut up my door panels to mount the separate tweeters. Still not quite sure whether or not I really need a sub, but I figure I might as well spend a bit more and have a 5 channel amp with that capability instead of having to buy a full second amp if I decide I want one. Still not 100% sure whether or not I'm gonna, but come this next payday I might just say fuckit and order everything off of amazon already so I stop debating it.
User avatar #14235 - multiplegermans (04/13/2015) [-]
The sub is worth it in the long run. Look at crutchfield. That's where I bought my stuff. Don't go cheap, it's not worth it
User avatar #14236 - basshead (04/13/2015) [-]
Yeah, if I end up going that route, which I probably will, I'll probably splurge and get something like a lower end JL 8" or 10". As much as I'd love to have like an 8w7, I have a slight feeling that one of those would be just a tiny bit overkill, that and my wallet would probably kill itself.
User avatar #14232 - basshead (04/13/2015) [-]
Oh, and I'm getting a 5 ch amp so should I chose to I can just get a small cheap sub to fill in a bit more bass, should I need it.

I put an aftermarket head unit it and replaced all the speakers with upgraded ones of the same size so it doesn't look all sorts of fucked up and put an amp to power them all in the trunk where the stock amp used to be
User avatar #14231 - basshead (04/13/2015) [-]
That's about all I'm gonna do as well to mine, except mine didn't have a stock amp so I'm going to have to wire that in manually, but thankfully my battery's in the trunk already, so that's half the work done right there. I'm only gonna be doing an amp, new speakers, and wires and all that, and damp the hell out of my big-ass doors and my rear deck with whatever cheap dynamat alternative I can get my hands on so that shit doesn't rattle and sounds better. Thankfully, the hardest parts will be figuring out how to run the wires so that I'm happy with it all, and getting to the rear deck speakers, since they're mounted on the top side of said deck, so I've gotta pull all sorts of shit apart to get to them...

I mean, the show is so much better it isnt on the same plane of exisitence, but some of the fan base is already cancerous. I feel like what thecancerthatkills knackie and kevintothemax do here is great and appropiate without going into cancer like mlp.
#222 - kevintothemax (04/11/2015) [-]
idk yoda. I consider myself the most cringey one of us out of the bunch. The cancer is already on every other website. It's going to overtake this website soon.
We do have a great community though.
User avatar #223 - yodaiam (04/11/2015) [-]
You might be the most cringe, but you really commit to it, which makes it that much better. And the community rules. It is dedicated and generally just awesome.

As much as I love the Hellcat, it's incredibly impractical as a daily driver.
Granted, the SS isn't much better in that way, I would much prefer it as it's more well rounded than the Hellcat imo
I love the design of both cars, but have to give the edge to the SS
User avatar #13998 - basshead (04/09/2015) [-]
Oh, yeah, no, as a daily driver it'd be absurd. It'd totally be worth it though. I am over standard daily drivers, I wanna have fun, damnit! Too bad I'm broke x.x
#13994 - apurpleliger (04/09/2015) [-]
It's not actually that impractical. Sure, the Charger Hellcat is more practical because it has two more doors, and they guzzle gas more than pretty much anything else, but as far as coupes go the Challenger is as practical as you can get unless you're somewhere that you'll need AWD.
User avatar #13988 - cycloneclone (04/08/2015) [-]

User avatar #13983 - basshead (04/08/2015) [-]
The numbers I had seen said that a base hellcat's msrp was starting at $46k, but then again, iirc the dealers are marking that shit up more than usual due to how popular it is, but yeah.
