You don't have to go to church for that. It is described that a sinner could deny God for his entire life and have an epiphany moments before he dies and ask for forgiveness and he would get it. Only Catholics practice that it must be done at church (of the major denominations I am aware of)

Yeah my parents raised me Catholic and Ive been thinking about that, and im sick of going to church every sunday so im thinking about telling my parents that so i wont have to go anymore

According to modern day Non-Denominational Christianity you don't you simply have to "have faith" (in fact that's how it's written in the bible).

My issue as a christian with the "Gods plan" idea is exactly what OP's post suggests. It's an excuse to drop all thought, responsibility, and motivation.

If God gave man "free will" than free will is the plan. You have the choice to determine how most (not all) things will turn out to some extent.

Free will is a man-made concept, like religion. You can't use something man-made to prove something at a supernatural level.

That's the problem with trying to apply logic to supernatural things, there's nothing that can completely prove any of it!

God knows all that is it, the problem is He cannot force us to do anything, He does not know when or where we do things, He only intervenes on the most minute level of our lives because his mystery is so great,

Think of it as a man sitting in a chair, you see them sitting there you know eventually they will get up, so you plan for them to get up. That is all God's plan is, our free will is we can sit for as long as we want even though God asks us to stand up, every once in a while he might tug on our shirt or make us feel uncomfortable but we find our comfort spot again and continue to sit.

Applying logic to supernatural things is tough but many people have. Throughout time there have been great philosophers and Theologians who have come to similar conclusions to many phenomena but, like politics, people nitpick and take what they say out of context and fill the minds of the youth with these partial and broken ideas of what philosophy and theology really and truly are
